May the Sun Rise in the West

We came out from our basements and wept under our towers
We learned that 175 clouds and 11 sinners create more than 3,000 broken bodies
We watched the fates of those who suffer through the eyes of broken martyrs
We watched as 77 birds brought five walls to their knees, and as 93 flowers satisfied the bees
We saw the tensions rise as the sober raided the same bunkers that the scapegoat was herded out of
The days passed slowly, with the mailmen bringing hexes to those who bled the mind and conjured fear

As days progressed we saw the children catching up to the standards of their captors
We began scoping a new home in preparation for the storm that may never come, but be forever on its way
Eagles became lost in deserts as 12,000 pages of lies were buried in the ears of the naive

As days progressed, a rapist killed a virgin
We witnessed our nakedness through the eyes of science

As the days progressed, we took a leap
Lies are dug from our ears
Jesters once again find the crown of kings
Cancer is cured months before a father falls
A newborn Katrina makes a wish on her birthday, and blows out the brightest candles

As the days progressed, we were able to rest on the stars, and watch the dolphins swim in new waters and the scapegoats graze in new grasses

As the days progressed, oversea fires temporarily burn out

As the days progressed, we took a leap
We hoped for change, and in return were forced to heal our own wounds

As the days progressed, the swine addressed a plague
As the days progressed, Richter begged the Earth to shake
A black tide fell on blue waters

As this day progresses, we want to build temples, but temples of fire built in cities of flame still burn. We want to believe that the night is darkest before dawn, but we fear the storm that awaits the sunrise.
Welcome to the minds of the most perfect of travesties
Peaceful and divine, with the most perfect of tendencies
Pictures in our eyes, reminiscent of our memories
Spiral down the slide, this hideous incendiary
Call upon your saviors to help you with your sins
Pray to your gods while we scream at our Sundays
In the murkiest of waters we search for a solution, but all we find is the most vile of pollution
Our future was stolen by renegades and swindlers, left for the ages as objects and fodder
We are forced to pick pocket thieves for the sunshine and silver dollars that were plundered from our own
The free land we live in is the most tolling of all
We are living in a country that is fighting against diversity. Against itself.
We deserve more than an apology. We deserve a lifetime.
Stall us in your storm clouds but we refuse to hear your thunder
We are the determined minds of the broken hearted
We are the broken hearts at the end of a tragic romance
Note our hostilities, and understand who we blame for the misery
And if that misery loves company, we will chaperone the hands that unite it.
We will allow the sun rise in the west
We are the hosts of the new horizon

Hah no I wasn't being sarcastic, sorry if it came off that way. I'm glad someone's taking time to read what I'm putting up here. Thanks again.

Is a series of metaphors for the last 10 years of social/political events in America. The rest is a proposal.
