I've driven there 3 times, never took more than 7 hours and I'm out on LI about an 1/2-hour away from the city, so it should take you 7 hours tops.
50+ shows and lost count somewhere along the way

You know, reading the fanviews from the other shows and realizing how wild the other crowds have been, we have a lot to live up to. We need to take it up a notch in Montreal!

I've seen PJ 3 times in Montreal and the crowd was loud and amazing!!!

I would have guessed more. I used to live on Long Island (out near Port Jeff)... it really depends on traffic, doesn't it though? I mean, my parents live in upstate NY, sometimes we could get up there in 4hrs, sometimes it would take 8hrs if we left at a bad time.

Anyway, I CAN'T WAIT FOR THIS SHOW!!!! It kinda snuck up on me though... been so busy at work. My wife and I are staying at Le Nuevel Hotel and will be at Grumpy's pre and most likely post.

To the person looking for a ride earlier (the guy/girl from Mass) we might be able to take you... where in Mass are you coming from?
  • I'll be leaving from Delaware with a friend of mine Wednesday afternoon, heading to Long Island to pick up the other half of our crew, then heading up to Plattsburgh for the night to visit my sister and then to Montreal on Thursday.

    SO EXCITED!
  • leaving wednesday morning for montreal
  • I'm driving up from NYC as well, and I spoke to a friend from Canada who told me it takes 5 1/2 hours to get there - mapquest says a little over six hours. so, plan for between 5 1/2 to 7 hours of non-stop anticipation.

My sister makes it to Plattsburgh from NYC (which is about an hour from Montreal) in just under 5 hours- so expect close to 6 hours.
  • When my gf and I used to drive to Montreal from Madison, NJ, it usually took us about 5 hours to get there.

go on Avenue Mont-Royal, corner St-Denis, there are plenty of used record store there, something like 5-6 in a walking distance.

Also check out http://www.montrealshows.com and click the STORES link for indy record store and more, hope you're having a great time in the city, another hot and humid day :)

edit: avoid CDEMENT (name of the store), i wouldn't recommend this store to anyone, unless you wanna pay the price of a new cd for a used one.

Packed And Ready!! 17 Hours Till Jfk !!!!!!!!
  • has anyone seen what they've been playing in Hamilton so far? That's an insane set list. No holding back. I hope they save some treats for Montreal and Ottawa. During Riot Act tour they went ape shit in Pittsburgh. I went to the Albany show the next night and the boys appeared a bit drained. Don't get me wrong it rocked but a short show (by PJ standards) and so-so set list.
