Why so few Saturday night shows?

I think I saw this addressed a while ago, but couldn't find anything via search.

It seems like PJ plays Fridays and Sundays quite often, but far less frequently on Saturdays. I'm sure there's a reason.

A couple years ago at a show in Chicago, which was on a Monday night, Ed told us we were behaving like a Sunday night crowd, but it was the band's responsibility to get us acting more like a Saturday night crowd.

Obviously there's a difference in the energy an average Saturday night crowd brings compared to a Sunday night crowd. So, why the scheduling that seems to work around Saturdays?

"You are behaving more like a Sunday night crowd than last night's Sunday night crowd."

When he said that I found myself wondering if Monday night are crowds known for their high energy levels.

Thank you, that's exactly what he said.

He always seems to play Hartford on Saturdays. Pearl Jam 08 was a Saturday, as was PJ 2010 and his Hartford solo gig in 2011.

Edit: Sorry PJ 08 in Hartford was a Friday night, cause I went to the Saturday Mansfield show. Oops.
He who forgets will be destined to remember.
