remember when
the world was won
it was when
there was no thought
but families, zoo time, and haircuts
and candles
two days before christmas
is how the world was won

    breathe all we do so thin
    and green lights
    and red
    nose and
    blue
    why do we see what's
    beyond black
    when light scatters thin
    under shadows
    when not the sky
    suffering atmosphere
