Disrepect to Mike

I will probably take some shit, but who cares.

I think the whole thing of people rushing from their seats at the begining of Evenflow sucks. I can't believe that Mike doesn't notice it. I just think it is disrespectful to pick that part of the show to take a piss or get a beer.

It was very noticeable at the Garden. I had to get that off my chest.

agreed; both nights; I had never noticed it before. I mean I am sick of them playing it too, but walking out when Mike's about to tear your face off, come on.

    eh, it's their loss.
One of these days Mike is going to spontaneously combust and then
they will be sorry they missed it.

then again the guy is on fire pretty much every night so..........

I am, I leaned over and told my daughter the very same thing. The people who left missed a top 5 Evenflow. It was great.

Personally I thought it was more disrespectful by all the people in the front dead center of Ed who sat last night during No More. There at least 15-20 people who sat down during the song. I mean leaving your seats is one thing but sitting down directly in front of a person pouring his heart out is worse in my opinion.

its better than assholes behind you pissing in a cup and being messy had i know it was piss during the show Id have knocked the living shit out of the drunk or got security.

what i can't believe is that even flow has been my piss break song for years (in part cuz no one else leaves during it) and now it has caught on with the masses as a piss break song

look, you know they are gonna play it at every show....i'd rather piss during even flow that miss the return of something obscure like Garden or Who You Are

and as a guitar player, i think mike's solo is total mastabatory wanking

i could also do without the playing guitar behind the head

stone is more my role model when it comes to rocking without crossing the line into cheeseball-ness

mike gets all the hype, but people running out to piss during his solo should tell him something

I completely agree with you here... but I do think that there are some exceptions...I am one that makes sure that I go to the bathroom before the set starts and make sure that I dont drink lots of liquid while standing there so that I dont have to go to the bathroom...

but WPB was the first time I ever leave my seat during Evenflow.. it was SO fucking hot that night I thought I was going to pass out right there I needed to get water to keep on going, I knew any other song other than Evenflow wouldn't be long enough for me to stay in line and get water and come back without missing a couple of songs at the least.... :o

I think that many people are just retarded to leave during Evenflow to get a beer but I think that if you really gotta go... you can run out do your business and come back and evenflow still will be on....

I agree with you though that some people do it out of plain disrespect... there was a girl in front of us in WPB who was saying before the show started... "the second Evenflow starts ima go get the next round of beers"
...but sometimes you just gotta go.... just my 2 cents though.

I think it's a good song to go to the bathroom for because you know it's going to be a 10 minute song and you won't have to miss 2 songs, one of which might be something you haven't seen before or love. If you love evenflow, you leave at a different point. If you love evenflow but need to pee really bad and don't want to miss anything else, you could leave in the middle.

I don't really see a problem with it.
  • Hey, I got an idea: STOP DRINKING ALCOHOL!! Light up a joint or take a toke of a bowl or something instead. No residual pissing dilemmas when you smoke, and you tend to mellow out more instead of acting like a complete fucking jackass. I mean...pissing in a cup in front of people? This is something that should be happening at a Jay-Z concert...not Pearl Jam.

I sat down during evenflow on night one, but last night it was definitely one of the highlights of the show. Mike was the star of the night for sure.
... and the will to show I will always be better than before.

I'm with you, pimprock! First off, I LOVE EVENFLOW!! I left Friday night (Camden2) when Evenflow started, my trip to the can took only a few minutes, heard every word, every note, and made it back to my seat in plenty of time to count "One, Two, Three, Four, Evenflowwww"
PEARL JAM in 2024! Dark Matter and MORE ! THANK YOU!!
Peace Love & Pearl Jam forever!!

That is a bunch of bullshit in my opinion too. No respect.

When I went to see Genesis last fall something similar happenend when the closer wasn't exactly a crowd pleaser. People had the nerve to get up and just walk out during the last song of the show. I enjoyed it, but that was a complete bullshit move. Respect is something people conveniently forget about these days.

I am also of the notion that you should piss your pants before you leave during a show, especially a PJ show... haha :)

I agree, and I also don't get the semi-voyeuristic delight some people on here seem to get when talking about their fucking bodily secretions. No one cares about you taking a piss or a shit, I ain't your Uncle Hank from back at the trailer park. Sure, go take a piss during Even Flow if you must. We just don't need to hear about your pissing/shitting proclivities.

as much as i am OBSESSED with pearl jam and have been for the last 16 years, i have to laugh at people saying "how dare anyone go to the bathroom during a pearl jam show?"

it's a CONCERT by a BAND of HUMAN BEINGS

as much as we act like they're gods, they are not

people are there to have fun, and if drinking/pissing is part of the fun, so be it

as great as the shows are, people should not be ashamed of or fight their natural urge to do something as natural as go to the bathroom

    GIVE ME A BREAK!!!!!!!!

Taking a piss during a concert should be illegal... leading to anyone being ejected from the venue that leaves their seat.

I myself almost had a kidney burst at Pearl Jam in 2006... heh...

Sometimes i experience great joy when taking a dump... I'd get even greater joy if Pearl Jam's even flow was being played live at the time.

You could make the argument that drinking so much that you have to keep leaving to piss and get more beer is disrespectful in itself. Doesn't matter which songs you choose to do so. On the other hand, a lot of people aren't so studious about listening to every solo or catching every rare tune. A good chunk of the fans you run into in every city are just rock fans who go to lots of shows.

I have more of a problem with the drunk pricks who piss on other people or fall all over the place and just make life miserable for people around them who are trying to enjoy the show.

It is the group think that gets me. If you have to go during Evenflow, you had to go five minutes before or five minutes after. It has become the "cool" thing to do, run out piss and get another beer.

What will these Evenflow pissers do if they don't play Evenflow, piss themselves?

I've said this a few times, but when evenflow starts and everyone gets up and is in the bathroom, the band should stop in the middle of the song and start No Way or something.
