    yes. you have to open it to prove it is white vinyl as I have seen one thread on here already where someone has been ripped off by seing sent a black vinyl.... I wouldnt buy one unless IT HAS BEEN OPENED for proof....

    I'd have to find the thread, but a couple folks that have both confirmed that the writing on the binding is lower on one than the other.

    This is not true, It's simply the way the paper went through the printer/the way the paper was cut. you can compare several black ones to each other and you will notice the spine print is not always consistent.

    There must be a way to know for sure. Some asked me if my album was also numbered, I didn't find a number on it.

    Here is the only difference in mine, which doesn't mean a whole lot.. Only true difference is the color of the vinyl..Only way to prove that is to rip that plastic off.
    I ain't got no fly'n shoes..

    I checked both very closely and there is no difference at all.
    I even heard of people saying that they have "barcodes" on there's.
    Neither of mine have "barcodes", and the print on the sides all line up.
    Hopefully someone has a definative answer to this...

    I wondered this too... what if you paid big money for one on ebay and they punked you and sent you a black one that's only worth $20? Seems like you would have to unseal it to find out.
