Recently, it's become clear that a new fork in the road has come
I've been walking, walking, walking, occasionally crawling (!) towards the light
and you're heading back towards the dark
at least, that's how it looks and feels to me
I know appearance is important to masculine types
aging is hard on everyone,
(and mortality is always hanging overhead)
I know that, but...
isn't that where the problem started?
don't you remember?!
the emptiness of heading in that direction?
maybe you don't, but I remember well
that's the direction you were traveling when we met
but, it's okay if we go in different directions
I'm fine with it because it's been better for me since I've been going where I want to go
