    They make the best fuel.
I refill my car with their Ultimate fuel which is 98 octane and cleans/protects your engine.
Also great power and mileage. 8-)

As good as burning my credit card for fuel in a Thrasher?

BP suck. Making good fuel does not give them a free pass to wreck the environment. Our home is worth more than any car.

this is obama for you.....you would think he would have learned when bp dumped hundreds of tons of oil out into the gulf and he was about to be impeached for doing nothing....

I'm amazed that state reg would trump a federal reg. I guess because theres still time before its fully enforced?

Whats your take on a State allowing this.
Seeing how its a shared body of water, its in your guys interest too.
I also wonder what the reaction is to this from the other states that border lake mich.

I just know that when its airborne theres a complete freak out about it , but in a body of water the damage is supposed to be negligible?

my take is that this is consistent with a corporatized form of gov't ... where the interests of the corporations supersede those of the people ...

the reaction will be a cursory objection that will result in court filings that make a bunch of laywers rich while ultimately nothing gets done ...

we've been shitting in our water bodies everywhere ... it's part of the overall problem ... people wonder why cancer rates and pretty much all illnesses are up ... well ... like most environmental issues - it may not be directly related to this but its part of it ...

The recommendation is that you should only eat one fish per month out of the Great Lakes because of the mercury. I one up it and make it zero per month.

As someone who fishes the great lakes, THIS IS ABSOLUTELY TRUE! Especially during salmon runs, where it is most imperative that you stay home. Tell all your neighbors and friends!

Seems to me I'd once heard that some of the Great Lakes nearly died. It's a shame we're not doing more to clean them up rather than further pollute them. Do we have to wait 'till they burn like the Cuyahoga?

damm ... although when i think about it ... i don't eat that much of it ... here's hoping that smoking the fish somehow lowers the mercury content ... :?

Possibly...the problem is far to many people believe the government have their best interest at heart...I long ago have given up believing the government is looking out for us. As I see it.

People can change though...I have, I didn't necessarily believe in the cause of climate change was people until I started reading the links that polaris and others posted and also used common sense...7 billion people on the planet with many using resource's recklessly is having an impact...no doubt in my mind.

I don't eat much fish myself...mostly halibut if I do. I beginning to wonder about meat period...however I usually don't eat meat more than once a week.

I wonder if their is organic fish? people who raise fish in a controlled environment? I don't even know if that is legal in Canada? Might be worth looking into?

yeah ... there are tons of fish farms ... mostly talapia and trout ...

with fish you have to concern yourself with toxins and sustainability ... strictly on the health bit - i think the general rule is the bigger the fish, the less you can eat of it ... halibut being a huge fish would have a high concentration of mercury ...

    See I didn't know that...fortunately I don't eat a lot of fish.

i eat a lot of fish relative to most people i suppose ... if i had to kill my own food - i'd have no problems eating off the water ... it's hard tho - thankfully, there's an app on my phone that i can use to see which fish i should eat ... haha

In some ways the lakes are better than they were 40 or 50 years ago. You probably can't light the Cuyahoga on fire these days. My dad has a good story of swimming in Lake Erie in the late 40's and coming up out of the water with a big turd in his hands.

As far as fish go, it can depend on the lake and what kind of fish it is. PCBs and dioxins are decreasing over time. Here's a link to an article (I guess I'll have to stop eating carp):
