I think the Department of Education was one of the agencies he'd eliminate. The irony in that statement is that he could not have looked dumber at that moment if he was driving to Aspen in a furry dog van.
We’ve all had human moments. President Obama is still trying to find all 57 states. Ronald Reagan got lost somewhere on the Pacific Highway in an answer to a debate question. Gerald Ford ate a tamale without removing the husk. And tonight Rick Perry forgot the third agency he wants to eliminate. Just goes to show there are too damn many federal agencies.
The governor said it best afterwards: “I’m glad I had my boots on, because I sure stepped in it tonight.”
While the media froths over this all too human moment, we thought we would take this opportunity to ask your help in doing something much more constructive: write us to let us know what federal agency you would most like to forget.
Is it the EPA and its job-killing zealots? The NLRB and its czar-like dictates? The edu-crats at the Department of Education who aim to control your local curriculum?

Still standing in our Boots,
Team Perry
"Oh, shoot, no," Perry told The Associated Press on Thursday morning, the day after making the error during a GOP debate. Asked whether his campaign, which is struggling to regain traction, could survive, Perry replied: "This ain't a day for quitting nothing."
This aint a day for quitting nothing???
lemme repeat: This. Aint. A. Day. For. Quitting. Nothing.
So it IS a day for quitting something?? I'm lost.

No, I believe that is Perry’s justification for getting rid of the Department of Edge u kay shun. Ain’t no need for it.
SIN EATERS--We take the moral excrement we find in this equation and we bury it down deep inside of us so that the rest of our case can stay pure. That is the job. We are morally indefensible and absolutely necessary.
it's not what he didn't say, it's what he did say."Do away with education.."
What the fuck does that mean?
ron paul says the same thing ...
It's a $70B program that's been around since 1980. The democrats and republicans don't appear to be willing to touch defense, social security, or healthcare. The democrats will scream bloody murder if anyone proposes cuts to education, because they could lose votes. Every major federal program is like this.
So ... how will it be possible to balance the budget if every major program is untouchable?

education should be untouchable. in case people have not been paying attention, we are lagging behind many countries in education. and that is a bad situation if this country wants to remain a "superpower".

Where were we ranked prior to 1980, before the federal government got involved?
I think education falls more on the parents than the school. I mean teachers to play a roll but it's parenting that hold the trump card. I think we are starting to see the affect of kids having kids. The benefits of parent involvement are huge. Research shows that successful parent involvement improves not only student behavior and attendance but also positively affects student achievement. Also if you stop funding education there goes the music program and other after school programs that need this funding.
Back to Perry, the guy is a dirt bag. If you cannot see that you are blind. Also he is too much of a bible banger as well.
