PJ Challenge: Work A Lyric

edited November 2011 in All Encompassing Trip
So I wrote this big proposal last night for work.

Thought, "Wouldn't it be funny if I could slip in a PJ lyric."

So I used the phrase "all encompassing" on one of my slides. (I couldn't quite justify "trip," but you get my drift.)

COO responded. Loved the proposal. I chalk it up to good karma from the PJ phrase.

I'm working on a presentation now. I think there's a ripe opportunity for further riffing on the PJ topic.

Can you slip a PJ lyric into your workday? (Or, if you don't work, slip it in some other way to an unsuspecting audience.)

Challenge made.

I think this could be easily done. The hard part will be resisting a give away giggle afterwards! :eh:

    That's the spirit, kids!

You have to post details (not to the extent they'd get you fired, just a general sense...)

    :)

  • I'm gunna appologize firstly, this isnt a PJ lyric quote but I say it from time to time. When someone asks you if you have any gum, say "no I don't (name of person) and I'll thank you to stay out of my personal affairs" (Ace Ventura) Again, sorry to hijack this thread but I thought you could use it. I will; however definately use a PJ lyric today even if it is a little forced. Nice Idea BTW :)

So you wouldn't recommend saying "Why do I keep Fuckin' Up" ? :(

I don't know if this counts, but if you're familiar with MS Office Communicator, you can put a little custom note on there so that anytime someone puts their cursor over your name, the note pops up.

People put all kinds of stuff in there: their phone numbers, "inspirational" messages, etc.

I usually put song lyrics, movie quotes and whatnot in there and I used to change it up quite frequently (like once a week at least) but I've had "Are we getting something out of this all-encompassing trip?" in there for several months now.

I have a feeling that my students will be hearing some PJ lyrics translated in to Hebrew in an upcoming history class....

Any suggestions on which to use? I am currently teaching the 8th graders the American revolution and the 9th graders Napoleon.
Still can't believe I met Mike Mccready at the Guggenheim and got a pic with him!!!!!

  • I regularly give people the advice "no matter how cold the winter theres a springtime ahead"
"FF, I've heard the droning about the Sawx being the baby dolls. Yeah, I get it, you guys invented baseball and suffered forever. I get it." -JearlPam0925
  • I regularly think to myself "get outta my fuckin' face" while at work. I have yet to vocalize these thoughts...well...vocalize them loud enough for the intended recipient to hear them

I dare any of you to use "Don't gimme no lip, I'm just not havin' it."

Soo..using the f-word at work is frowned upon? :? Oops..I think I used it a few times today.

Unlost..i think I've done this before..maybe with Bugs in reference to the thousands of stink bugs we have at work. Pretty sure of uttered "It's evolution baby" a few times too.
Perhaps I'll try something from Satan's Bed next.
Show #13 was a lucky one for me....
  • Sadly, I use PJ references all the time, but I teach in a very urban high school and NONE of them would ever pick up on it. :( Wonder if I put one in with the f-word if they'd cling to that phrase.

Was discussing a proposal I made, which may result in me shifting from one role to another. Lots of positive energy around this at the moment, and when asked what I thought, I replied, quite seriously, "I'll ride the wave where it takes me."

    8-)

    (Nobody got it at all.)

Somebody was saying how they squished this stinkbug at work and that it was green inside and that maybe it was diseased or something. I said "It's a disease and they're all green" No response.

My "all encompassing" didn't make the final cut of the big presentation today. :(

I'm going to have to step it up now.
