Hey all. I need to part w/ my backup copy of avocado on vinyl. $300.00 would be greatly appreciated as it would help get my 1965 dodge dart out of the shop. The vinyl still has the plastic, but slit down the side. The records have never been pulled out as i bought it that way from the local record shop here in portland,OR when it came out. Help me out please! Paypal is cool.

  • I just sold two for ~$160. One of those was on ebay, so I think it is fair to say that is the going price. If you can get $300, more power to you but as others mentioned you better cut that cost in half if you actually want to see ANY money at all.

    you are very correct

i'm sure many people ARE trustworthy and don't spend their time on message boards

but trading is a leap of faith for the most part

generally you have to take peoples word for it. or other people that know the person. generally before i trade with someone i try to friend them on facebook, look at thier posts, or contact other users that have traded with them. so far i havent been burnt here. keeping my fingers crossed

Always wondered how someone could possibly buy or trade from someone for large amounts of money or valuable stuff with members with very low post counts ad new sign up dates. And for some reason I'm always a little bit more cautious about people with lots of numbers in their user name. Unfortunately you do have to make a name for yourself or have been around for awhile for me to personally buy or trade with. Like it or not it's just the way it is. The good buyer/seller thread is nice to have too!

Now back to the original post. So many things wrong with it. Crazy asking price, sealed but it's not, low post count, OP hasn't returned to this thread, the pity story...why in the world would anyone "help out" buy paying 3 or 4 times the amount, and last but not least to get a 1965 Dodge Dart ? :lolno:

I agree. I haven't done any trading or selling yet on this board, but if I'm the OP, I'd adjust prices accordingly if there's an overwhelming majority who feel the asking price is out of line. Sometimes they just don't realize the market price isn't that high. There's nothing wrong with negotiation if you realize you're asking to much and then throw in another album or bring down the price to strike a deal. That happens all the time on here. Everyone wants a fair deal and if someone told me I was out of line with a trade idea, i'd adjust it to whatever i'd be willing to trade or pay and if the other person disagrees, then no deal. Not a big issue. There's nothing that I couldn't live without. Hopefully nobody has a bad experience with trading or selling to someone on here and that everyone holds up their end of the deal.

I disagree, I have been a member for 12+ years. I just now have a need/want to trade some of my stuff. I used to only buy things from Ebay or 10c. I have a lot of numbers in my username because it is my member number and I have never changed it from originally joining. I have recently bought posters/vinyl from folks here and had good interactions. I am not sure what my number of posts has to do with anything. I usually PM someone if I want to trade/buy from them.

I am not trying to argue, but I am just adding to your point that it is difficult to make a name for yourself if you are not here posting ALL day long.

  • If anyone doesn't "trust" me due to minimal posts; it's probably because i have better things to do then sit on here all day. As far as price on the LP, i'd be willing to go lower. And to all those who want to "trust" me can add me on facebook. I have nothing to hide and i've been following PJ most of my life. More so then others. I can even post pics of the LP for anyone to see as well as my dodge dart i SO need to rescue from the shop. My name is Rob Denman and i am an innocent bystander.

  • Im located in Portland, OR and my darts' problems are a rear differential replacement and new radiator. The radiator has to be custom made as no manufacturor produces them before 67'. The bill is close to a grand.

have you tried yearone? kinda pricey, but i heard they are awesome.

ps. any news on the price you want for this LP?
  • I am sorry I don't have a dart but I am new to this whole thing and I have traded with GREAT results. It has been a while since I renewed my membership (didn't renew since 2006) and now I am more into this because of Lost Dogs than anything else.

I have a feeling he put on a Pawn Stars number so that someone could talk him down to $100 or so. Well done sir...well done!

Are you trying to keep it original? If not, then you could probably find a radiator to work. I have a 1960 Pontiac and it has a Dodge van radiator from a junkyard...works good.
  • Im keeping as original as possible. I've so far put in a new engine and a new tranny, new performance air shocks and new carb. Everything else clean and no rust. I've had for 7 years now and she purrs. The radiTor might be able to be re-cored, but even this is roughly the same price as having one specially fabricated.
