Though I did not agree with all his views on life, for the most part I did enjoy his 60 Minutes segment.

RIP Andy

Huge Huge NY Giant Football fan.

I also didnt always agree with his viewpoints,

He was one of the few left from the old school,...
such as his reporting for the Press during WW2,..
and later for 60 Minutes .

I also enjoyed his cameo in the PJ20 movie.

    RIP Andy

Rooney was one funny guy. Sorry to see him go.

  • always sad when someone dies. but in terms of his work performance, i'd say i wasnt a fan at all. He is why im afraid of getting old. this idea of hating everything thats new. hating the new generation, not understanding the new generation. was typical of mr rooney and seems typical of elderly folks as well. they seem to settle into this routine, where new things are viewed as evil, scary and not good. all you have to do is watch his commentary on kurts suicide to understand this. kim thayill talked about how our parents generation completely missed the point and meaning of kurts death, what it meant to us, and i think rooney embodied that. any new thing, anything that young kids got into or liked seemed foreign and absolutely mental to him.

That's sad news about Andy Rooney. May he rest in peace.

I don't mean to sound insensitive, but I think Lionel from WPIX would be a good replacement. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=utKddKOkHjc
