Interesting Statistics:
For each of the 984 Occupy Wall Street protesters arrested in New York City between September 18 and October 15, police collected and filed an information sheet recording the arrestee’s name, age, sex, criminal charge, home address and — in most cases — race. The Daily Caller has obtained all of this information from a source in the New York City government.
# of O.W.S. Arrests = 984
# of White Arrested = 797
Median Assessed House Price of O.W.S. Arrested = $305,000
Median Assessed U.S. House Price = $185,400
# of Arrested w/ house value over $500K = 95
Average Monthly Rent of Arrested = $1,850
Average Age of Arrested = 27 years

Sounds like the 1% to me. Shouldn't these people be fighting against raising taxes??? Someone who can swing an $1,800 / month apartment probably has more to lose then me.
If that's the 99%, I must be in the 1%.

This is interesting, and I agree with your point, but I do think to be fair... it's NY. comparing median or means in the NY with the country, really shouldn't be done. Everything's more expensive in NY.Here's a new demo called "in the fire":

You are right, but isn't that also part of the problem with how Obama defines "rich?" I mean, here on Long Island, we are already net givers to the NYC Public Schools (at the expense of our own schools), and now Obama wants to categorize us as rich in a similar way to someone making the same money in (I won't name a town or city because I'll surely offend someone) any place else.
That's why a somewhat flat tax (I realize it can't be perfectly flat) makes a hell of a lot more sense. I'll still pay more for where I live, but at least it won't be disproportionate.Sorry. The world doesn't work the way you tell it to.0 -
1800/mo could be split 4 ways.
Lots of holes to be poked in raw data like that.0 -

Yeh, this is a good point. Here's a new demo called "in the fire":

In a video posted on YouTube Monday, a woman identifying herself as an Occupy Wall Street protester says that a young, deaf man was allegedly raped at New York's Zuccotti Park.
Worse yet, the incident was not reported to police.
Jim Hoft of Gateway Pundit posted a transcript of the exchange with the protester, identified at Big Government as Channing Kehoe:
Q: You said a deaf guy was raped?
A: Yeah…
Q: Did the guy, I mean, do these, did that get reported to the police, or did that stay inside the camp?
A: Well, OK, I’m not sure for that particular incident. Yeah, no I–that might have stayed inside the camp.
Acording to the protester in the video, drugs and assault are becoming a real problem at the protest. Estimating at least ten sexual assaults at the park, the activist said the protest has been "unsafe for women" for at least three to four weeks.
