  • the fact that these stories exist is what is really racist. Its a costume, its not like he dressed up as a slave or something discriminating. He dressed up as a famous person, its when people discriminate and say he dressed up as a black person that makes it racist. Personally i think its awesome, and if a black person dressed up as eminem i think it would be equally as awesome. Until we see these things as a person dressing up as another person racism will never go away.

don't believe me? then listen to Mr. Morgan freeman

I don't know. It might not have been meant as offensive, but historically speaking blackface is a no-no. I don't think the dude is being racist, but it is a dumb move for somebody in the public eye to do something they know is going to cause discussions like this. Unless he just wanted the attention.

I don't find this nearly as bad as that other incident in the story, in which somebody at a game in London, ONT threw a banana at a black player.

I didn't find it offensive. But I always wondered what would happen if a black person dressed up as a white person c/w paint and all, would it garner as much attention and would society think it was racist?

    me too

it's an honor not an insult
  • Agreed...

    This is Black Face. c-jw-01-16-mammy.jpg

This is what people (society) deemed racist.

This is not what he did. I sure he is a fan of Jay-Z and it was more of what pandora said an honor than an insult.

Its the media that makes it more negative than it is!

  • It's all about context. If you mean it to racist, it's racist. If you are trying to be funny and there is no racist intent then its just that, funny. Just like the White chicks movie and Sunny in Philly. Love Philly BTW. If someone takes acception to these types of things then mabey they, themselves are racist.
