A band for the fans who walk their talk...

I must admit that not all bands are committed to their fans as Pearl Jam are. By way of example, when I saw them in Sydney in 2009, Ed was as sick as a dog but he still gave it his best, and they performed for 2 hours. Three days later in Brisbane he had recovered, had the fire in his eye and they belted it out for 2 hours 35 minutes. Unbelievable and truly memorable a time. Not many bands play for that long.

I recently saw Coldplay on their first tour to South Africa. We had bought tickets like 5 months in advance. They played an hour and a half set. While they put on a good show in front of 62 000 adoring fans, the sound was not as great as the PJ concerts I have been to. They could also have thrown in a few more songs at the end I felt, even if they were just acoustic versions. It was almost as if they were just going through the motions.

There is no better band than PJ in the world. They have always been true to their fans and the music. Long may they live and rock! ;)

They will spoil you. So many shows I've been to that stop on the dot at the 90 min mark. There's a few that go 2 hrs but PJ is pretty consistent w/ 2.5.

I completely agree.. its tough to go to other shows because the guys have me so spoiled, their worst show could top many of the cookie cutter setlist of most current touring acts (with the few exceptions DMB, Bruce)...

now once we get the ticket prices under control, we'll be back on track.....
I'm gone ..Long gone..This time I'm letting go of it all...So long...Cause this time I'm gone

I saw Coldplay in 2002 (when they were good ) and left the show disappointed. They were always a studio band IMO.
