True fans of the novel will be disgusted, simply for the fact that the movie does not include the character Yeamon!!!!!

THAT is a travesty. The guy is a main character and a crucial part of the story. It is a disgrace to the novel and the author.

Such a shame. Typical BS Hollywood cash grab.
All they are doing is capitalizing on the success/name recognition of Depp/HST/Fear & Loathing etc

Yep, huge fan as well... I think the movie will be cool, I don't ever expect movies and books to be exact. I'm just pumped it's Depp representing HST's writing again...I'm stoked about the Jack Kerouac movies coming out as well, those should be pretty interesting... OK, sorry forum, back to PJ related stuff..

I loved the book and was pretty excited when I saw that they made a movie with Johnny Depp.

There's also a trailer out there, but it looked a little bit like a copy of Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas to me :|

But oh well - I'm going to watch it anyway :D

It was a letdown, yeah, but still better than a lot of movies I caught in the last year.

I'm going to rent it and decide myself, and I know that anything will ever match "Fear and Loathing", but it's worth a shot.... ;) Me likey Johnny Depp!!
