So I just watched the movie Singles for the first time... and it was AWESOME!
first of all, a movie with Mother Love Bone spray painted on a wall within the first minute of the movie must be a good movie. it really brought be back to the 90's and although I was relatively young for that decade, being born in 1987 and all, it was still grat to relive again. pearl jam, or should I say citizen dick, soundgarden, alice in chains... what a perfect movie. what a perfect soundtrack. i just bought a citizen dick t-shirt on ebay... I might have a new favorite movie
In July 2007 Densmore said that he would not rejoin The Doors unless it was fronted by Eddie Vedder. Densmore says, "I play with Jim. If there's someone of that level, OK. I'm not gonna join them with Ian. That's not to diss Ian, he's a good singer - but he's no Jim Morrison. Eddie Vedder? My God, there's a singer."

  • Love this movie. Much better than Reality Bites a great movie from Mr. Crowe. He also made Jerry Maguire, Say Anything and another of my favorites Almost Famous which is somewhat autobiographical.
Let's see those 2013 dates in the southern states.
  • Singles is a sweet movie. Good times!

There are worst movies than this, but it's far from being "a great movie".. It's a mediocre movie with a great soundtrack, one of the coolest soundtrack ever.. I originally watched "Singles" because of Pearl jam and the others, and the presence of these artists is the only interesting and funny thing in the whole film.. But I enjoyed matt dillon playing hendrix on his grave

i said it was a terrible MOVIE... and it is... a soundtrack alone isnt enough to carry a movie... the rest of it is just laughable... which is not what it was going for at all

  • Singles and Reality Bites are two of my fave movies.....Someone also mentioned Say Anything..Love that one too....Can you tell I love cheesy flicks! I also have an original Citizen Dick T....it is very beat-up though...used to wear it like every day with my ripped jeans with the thermals underneath, chucks, and my favorite flannel! Wow I am getting old! LOL :)
  • its a pretty bad movie other then the musicians that pop up all over the place
my favorite part is when they are in the club and AIC is playing on stage. Classic
and of course with citizen dick in the diner with eddier and the guys

  • What's really interesting about this movie is the timing. Cameron Crowe knew about the Seattle music scene and wrote the movie before grunge broke as a national phenomena. There was a lot of press about the movie as it was being made in late 1990 though the bands in it were not yet nationally well-known. The soundtrack was getting heavy alt radio play for a few months before the movie was even released. By the time of it's release in Sept 92, Ten was a hit and we all know the history from there. To my great embarassment now, I did know even know who Pearl Jam was the first time I saw the movie, but Alice in Chains and Soundgarden were the edgy new thing. Did you catch the shot of Matt Dillon in the Green River t-shirt?

    There's some interesting tidbits here:
