Here's the deal, my Dad and I are both fan club members and have been to about 15-20 shows together. I scored both a backpack and a white Backspacer. I absolutely don't want to get rid of either. But my Dad had to bail on joining me at PJ20 when my Mom's mom passed away 2 days before the shows and he needed to stay home to be with my Mom.

He saw my PJ20 backpack and I've never seen him so enthralled over a piece of merch. So my plan is to try to find him a backpack and fill it with the PJ20 book, movie, and CD.

Help me pull off the best Christmas present ever. Looking for a mint backpack from a smoke free home, tags still on preferred but not a must. Thanks!

UPDATE!!!!!

Thanks to Mr. Savage Waste from this thread, I was able to trade for a backpack for my Dad for Christmas.

He got some heat early on, but this should be a lesson to remember that there are some really good people on this board. Thanks to White Discussion and others who looked out for me, bumped my thread, offered to pitch things in for trade, etc. Merry Christmas everyone!

  • Great idea man!!! I hope you find this for your dad people love the white Backspacer so maybe you'll get lucky :). I want the back pack also, but the asking price has been very high.

Thanks man! I know the backpack is crazy popular, but this is one item I am willing to break the budget for. As much fun as PJ20 was, it killed me that my Dad couldn't be there with me. A backpack full of PJ gear for Christmas could make up for it.

These things are going for a lot, but hopefully white vinyl, plus cash and maybe some Faithfull Ale if I can score an extra or two will convince someone to help me out.

I promise you won't see this thing on the bay, just on my Dad's back. Mr. WhiteDiscussion can vouch for me.

Can anyone with a backpack help me out? As I said, I've got a sealed white Backspacer.

I could also add a little cash to sweeten the deal and/or some Faithfull Ale if I can score an extra bottle or two.

I'd be hugely indebted to anybody who could help me pull this gift off.

Anyone out there with a backpack that they're not using want to help me out here?

As I said, I've got a sealed white Backspacer. Also have a McCready pick from the PJ20 shows. If I can find some extra Faithull Ale I'd be willing to add that. Could also add a little cash.

I'd greatly appreciate anyone's consideration. Thanks!

I was really hoping I would get the backpack in the mystery tube sale so I could help out either you or another guy who's been looking but alas I didn't. Good luck to you in your search.

Thanks man, I really appreciate that. I've helped a few peope out around here and am hoping it will come back to me, I've got 2 months to hunt.

I've only got 1 guitar pick ever, but would throw that in the trade without hesitation. And as cool as having a rare vinyl like the white Backspacer is, a black one would sound the same to my ears so I'd be willing to get rid of my white one to pull this trade off. I don't have many rare things, but would get easily get rid of them to make this happen.

I just need to find that right person who loves colored vinyl and needs and "M" guitar pick and finds backpacks uncomfortable ;-)

Still looking for a backpack for my Dad's Christmas present. The most valuable item I have to trade is my sealed white Backspacer.

I also have a McCready pick from PJ20. If I can get some extra Faithfull Ale I'd be willing to add a bottle or two (waiting to hear from my local store). I'd also gladly head to the local Best Buy to pick you up a copy of PJ20 on DVD or Blu Ray (whatever you prefer).

I am offering pretty much anything I can think of here.

Thanks for the bump buddy. I am upping the ante and offering pretty much anything and everything rare I have in attempt to get my Dad this bag for Christmas. Already bought him the PJ20 book, CD, DVD and a bottle of Faithfull Ale. Now I am just waiting for the PJ20 vinyl to come out and for a backpack to put it all in.

So here's what I have, some of these items mean a great deal to me, but I am willing to trade them to get this bag for my Dad:

    Sealed white Backspacer
Mike McCready pick from the second night of PJ20
    2 bottles of Faithfull Ale
2 stickers given to 10 Club members at PJ20
Pearl Jam No War 2003 Dog Tag
Philadelphia newspaper from the morning after the last show at the Spectrum

Here's a picture of the vinyl, more pics to come.

Dog Tag, this is one of my favorite items. Actually bought it at the infamous Uniondale show in 2003

November 1 2009 Philadelphia newspaper. My wife and I went to the October 30 and 31 shows at the Spectrum with my Mom and Dad. My Dad went to Villanova and my Mom went to Westchester State and both attended many shows at the Spectrum and it meant a ton to them to be there at the last show ever.

This is a really awesome offer man, thank you so much. PJ fans are the greatest.

So the ante has been upped again, all my stuff PLUS a sealed Vitalogy from Mr. KayentaCoffee

To all those who have bumped this and offered help, when the next US tour is announced, PM me and I'll be you a beer and any show that we are both at. I mean that, remember this and PM me and I'll find you and buy you a beer.

Please...please...please consider helping me out. I know it will make my Dad's Christmas and I can promise it will make mine. The look on his face when he sees the bag will be the highlight of my holiday.

Hopefully you can see how bad I want to pull this off based on the fact that I am offering pretty much everything I have!

One other item I can add to sweeten the pot for the collectors out there. A copy of the June 29 2006 issue of Rolling Stone with Eddie "The Reluctant Warrior" on the cover.

I'll bump this a couple more times over the next few weeks, but am starting to lose hope. List of items for trade below.

    Sealed white Backspacer
Mike McCready pick from the second night of PJ20
    2 bottles of Faithfull Ale
2 stickers given to 10 Club members at PJ20
Pearl Jam No War 2003 Dog Tag
Philadelphia newspaper from the morning after the last show at the Spectrum
June 29, 2006 issue of Rolling Stone in near mint condition

Also a sealed Vitalogy on my behalf from my KayentaCoffee

To be honest, looks like no one is willing to trade... I'd sell individually on eBay and then buy one back from the money made. Probably have more luck doing that.
PJ - Sydney 1998; Sydney 2003; Sydney, Melbourne, Newcastle 2006; Melbourne, Sydney 2009; Gold Coast, Melbourne, Sydney 2014.
EV - Canberra, Newcastle, Sydney 2011; Sydney 2014.
  • If someone will hook this guy up I'll also throw in Ten, Vs & Vitalogy expanded edition CDs. The reason is easy it's for his dad & he's a good man.

I know, which is why I said I was starting to lose hope. I am not going to be onboxious and keep bumping this if it's not going to happen. I have had a few good leads but all have fallen through.

I don't really feel like going the eBay route, prefer to keep things "in house". I don't want to buy from a flipper and I don't want to sell my stuff to someone who is going to turn around and resell it, I trust this group a lot more than people on eBay.

If I can't track down a backpack, maybe I'll trade this stuff for some vinyl that neither my Dad nor I have that we can spin together, that will be a decent consolation.
