Black Friday & Record Store Day, my two favorite holidays! :D

What has caught your attention this time around?

I'm still enjoying the Deftones & Nirvana records from last Record Store Day.

Some of these prices are making it easy to narrow down my list...
Top of my list is, The Wall 7" box set, Quadrophenia Demo's Vol 1, The Black Keys and the Brendan Benson 10"
I pre-ordered the Craig Finn 7" from Vintage Vinyl.. That's one of those records that will probably disappear pretty quick.
    I ain't got no fly'n shoes..

Vinyl is so cool, it's like everywhere now. So happy to see it back in full effect, thanks so much for the post. Though I wonder if now that I'm so into it finally, if it's now uncool? I have had a habit of ruining cool things and I still feel Ike an outsider at the record store :D

I'm with you on the prices as well... I agree with the Pink Floyd & Black Keys, that Chris Cornell looks pretty nice too.

The pre order is fine (and I ordered some) but I really enjoy the hunt on the day of the sale.

I was thinking the same thing. Buying something a month in advance is pretty anticlimactic and kinda goes against the spirit of Record Store Day.

    I haven't ordered anything (yet).

Agreed! I only really wanted to make sure I was getting the Chris Cornell one then got carried away as usual. Plus, I may be hunting for shoes and handbags (my other loves) on Black Friday :D

    I went with:

    Nirvana
    RHCP
    Chris Cornell

all I will need is the PJ one when someone lists it
Springfield MA 94, Hartford CT 96
  • hopefully you all get what you ordered. i'm sure lots of places are overselling and a lot of refunds will be coming. with everything being limited edition, I doubt every order gets fulfilled
  • I ordered the Phish vinyl.
If I'm at the store and they have the Grateful Dead Europe 72 vol 2 - I'll probably get that one as well.

My thoughts exactly........ After spending $200, I had to slow down. The Phish is generally the hardest to get.

Really tempting, but I am going to resist the urge. Don't want to spend a bunch of cash and then have PJ20 come out on vinyl. That Cornell double LP is tempting though.

I really want the Cornell and Soundgarden ep. It will cost $108 dollars to get them over to the UK

Anyone know of any UK pre-order sites or in Europe?

I've contacted what records and Tim says at the moment he has not been offered any stock.

Yikes! $108 on both those sites? That stinks :(

    Yep over $40 shipping.
    I pre-ordered the Cornell record on Amazon.com
    Came to $34 including shipping.
I've ordered vinyl from them before and man they are quick, works out great with the exchange rate too. I ordered the recent Primus record from Amazon and I got it in the UK 4 days after release!
Hopefully they have the item in stock come release day.

Now it's time for the Soundgarden ep!

Not bad! Do we even know what's different about RSD version of Chris Cornell's Songbook vs everywhere else? Didn't realize you could also get it through Amazon. For cheaper too!

I think the vinyl is an exclusive RSD only pressing. Not heard of a general release. I could be wrong though.

Mod on the SG website said it was only a limited 2 week run for the Black Friday vinyl and then would see a general release from retailers after... but who knows? :?

The Cornell RSD release is limited to 2000 copies.
