Just saw The Black Keys...in a mall parking lot

Just got home from my first Black Keys show. They played a free show put on by Microsoft in Seattle to celebrate the opening of their new store near the University of Washington. Regardless of whether or not this constitutes as a "sellout" (and it may), it was a kick ass show. Really liked the vibe onstage, much better live band then on their albums, and their album are pretty damn good. Dan and Patrick are simply amazing. Really looking forward to taking a deeper dive into their albums now that I got a taste of them live.

Don't forget to give a listen to 2008's Attack And Release. By the way, I love it when bands play near universities or even better inside campuses. It must be an awesome experience with all the young men and women around.

Yeah, it certainly was. They gave out wristbands to anyone who was there when the store officially opened on Thursday morning until they were out. Almost everyone at that show was college aged, and they were all digging it. I heard people were in line as early as 1-2am to get tickets. I won my way in through a local radio station.
