It was my 2nd ever show. First time using fanclub seats. Got 5th row center. Never been closer!:lol:

I remember getting up to Fargo and checking into my hotel and then going to the venue to wait for the ticket window to open. Couldn't believe my luck at my seats! Also sold my spare to someone from the board. Don't remember his name. We hit up a bar that I think was right across from the venue. Lots of people were there.

Also at some point I went to Target to buy a disposable camera since I was so close. Ended up running into some dude from Canada who was also going to the show. I hooked him up with my employee discount.

Oh, and at some point I bought the Showbox DVD. I think it was being sold while everyone was waiting in line for the ticket window to open.

As far as the show, Idlewild opened the show. I really really really dug them. Ended up rocking out to them the next night in St. Paul while everyone looked at me like I was strange! ha!

Ummmm...... Eddie came out and opened with 'Arc' That was pretty damn cool I thought. Right before they played 'Whipping' Eddie said something like 'here's another love song, but with a bondage twist' I remember yelling out 'BONDAGE!!!!!' I think its just wishful thinking.....but I swear you can sort of hear it on the boot!

During 'Crazy Mary' when Eddie passed the bottle of wine around, it passed right in front of me. The jerks wouldn't pass it back! I wanted Eddie's cold damnit! hehehehehe Actually no, but it is kinda gross when you think about it. All those people putting there lips on the same bottle.

At the end I remember going back to my hotel room, but I was still so hopped up from the show with no one to hang out with. I walked around the hotel having a few cigs and heard a plane take off. I could be wrong, but Fargo is kind of a small place, with no major airport, so I figured it was the band flying to Minneapolis.

Hmmmm.......oh also I was pissed they didn't have the show poster there. For some reason the poster never made it to the show.

Nah, Matt started in with the drums and Eddie said 'We're just going to play the parts we remember' But they didn't stop and start again.

I was supposed to be at this show! Bought tickets, would have picked them up at the box office -- but my BF's (now hubbie) little bro was killed in a freak accident, so obviously I ended up flying to Calgary instead -- wasn't really miffed about missing the show, family emergencies happen, but I was a little annoyed that TM wouldn't refund my money for the tickets

fargo was only my second show ever, my first being in minneapolis in 1998.

the 03 tour was block seating and the lines were long because people would get there early for the best seats. the line was still pretty long when i got there and we waited awhile. i then saw a friend coming from the ticket window so i went to talk to him. while chatting, looking at the box office there was no line in front of the window i needed to go to, so i just went up and got my tix, even though my friend still waiting in line was a good hundred plus people behind that. i think we got sixth row, which may still be the closest i've been at a show. so that was cool.

i also bought my showbox dvd there in line.

fargo is still the only show i've heard nothing as it seems at.

that in my tree, though incomplete, was the first time it was played that tour, and the debut of the "new" version that everyone just loves.

thumbing my way was played by ed on an electric guitar. i'm not sure was done that way before or since.

ed's illness was just starting to hit (and was apparent in the next few shows), which made for a bit of a short encore, i think. sleight of hand got played, so there was a silver lining at least.

  • I remember this show. I woke up early and was about the 5th person to arrive to wait out for tickets at around 7-8 am. I was rewarded with front row in front of Stone. I returned to my hotel and my gf was upset that I left her for the day. Her anger was assuaged when she found out our seat location. It was quite the fun experience as Stone made faces at us and we to him. I remember it being one of those cut-off arena curtain shows as the stage was at the 50-yard line middle of the arena. I rocked my tits off. I think Ed took notice as he gave me a tambourine! I've tried to get him to sign it and want him to put "FARGO 6-15-03" on it. I asked him at LA last summer amongst a bunch of fans but he wouldn't. I totally understand though as I know he gets hawked by lots of the ebay money maker non-fans all the time. I definitely cherish it and would never part with it.

    This.

I LOVE hearing about other people's "show day" experiences...because there really is nothing like it. Its fucking great driving to a show, great picking up your tickets, great doing the preparty, then the show itself.

Awesome. I can't wait for a US tour.

I told him it was from their one and only show in Fargo, and in his contemplative, classic, semi-stoner voice, he said "ohh, yeah, Fargo, sure, yeah, I remember Fargo..."

fantastic! I'm listening to this boot right now. My second show. 10 years after my first. I literally started to cry during Arc. My breath was literally taken away at that moment.

I followed them quite a bit that tour. That was one show I didn't have tickets to. Walked up to the venue, day of, snagged 4th row. Was a killer show, but I remember being totally out of it toward the end as I had been on the road for 3 weeks following them around. Bailed during Baba, unfortunately, to start back to the hotel...decided to skip St. Paul and rest up for the Chicago/Alpine/Deer Creek trio, which was a good decision. Ahh, being young!

Was at this show, it was pretty awesome but the acoustics in the building were terrible...it was like a football arena or something and it sounded like shit.

I was supposed to be at a work mtg in Seattle that week and it was cancelled. I worked out changing the flight to Fargo, my only time in ND. My experience was overall really cool but totally unexpected. I'm African-American, and I honestly figured Fargo was not going to be diverse at all. The first woman I spoke to when I left my hotel to walk around was a young woman who turned out to have come to Fargo as an African refugee, with her siblings. She'd now been in Fargo and the US for 3 years. I was just stunned, trying to imagine coming from an African country to freakin' Fargo? With ALL THAT SNOW??? And then I also learned from a native Fargo-an that Fargo is both a big relocation place for refugees, as well as a top place for people in the Witness Protection Program. So I then looked at everyone as either a refugee or in Witness Protection LOL!

My new friend from Africa was such a sweet, cool young woman, and when I explained why I was in Fargo she said she'd heard of Pearl Jam. I immediately invited her to come with me, was able to get her a ticket, and even though Ed was sick, it was a great show and I rocked out and she really enjoyed it too. Funniest moment was that at one point Ed mentions that a lot of Jeff's family was there, and the spotlight turned on his family and we were smack in the middle of their section, so everyone must've been looking at the 2 Black chicks like "Oh, that's nice, Jeff has a diverse family..." LOL! In the end one of his relatives gave us backstage passes, which we took, but we didn't go back because it felt too random and we hadn't really been invited by the band itself so... we left and went to eat.

It was so good being able to go with a new fan (she was a fan by the time she left), and in some ways the whole Fargo experience was surreal for me, but it was great.
