The opener of MX and Hurts like Heaven are great. The singles are atrocious and the Rhianna song is just awful. There's a lot of fat that could have been trimmed off of this album in favor of a couple songs that were put on iTunes a month or so ago.

Overall...meh

Heard a lot of their news tunes last year. None of them really impressed me apart from Major Minus which is awesome!!!

i havent given it a listen yet, but i loved Viva La Vida. I really enjoyed the atmospherics of it all, and the arcade fire influenced anthems. I admire the band for refusing to make the same music over and over again. parachutes sounds so different from X and Y. And X and Y sounds different from Viva la Vida. I quite liked the Eno influence on Viva. The Escapist, Death and All his friends, Life in Technicolor, great songs.

im a big fan of the band, and i like how chris doesnt let the haters get to him. he doesnt take himself too seriously and i think thats admirable.

Not really any good songs on it apart from Major Minus, there are a few other okay ones. Some are dreadful like the one with Rihanna.

wasnt a fan of the studio version of Every Teardrop, but it was great live (less of that synthesizer sound).

Personally, I loved 3 out of the 4 tracks I've heard so far: loved Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall, Paradise and Major Minus, not at all a fan of the new one with Rihanna. But excited to hear the rest!

Paradise and the Chinese Princess/Rihanna song are terrible. The rest of the album tells a great story and is quite uplifting. I really like the acoustic songs and Hurts like Heaven is a great live song.

alright, i've listened to it 5 times now, so i have a better feel for it.

after the first listen i was let down a bit. even after the 5th, i still sort of feel this way. i don't think its a bad album, i was just expecting more.

there's only a few songs i love.

U.F.O is probably my favourite out of all of them. i wish it was longer.

I really like Paradise. I loved it since the first time i heard it.

Major Minus is another great track.

Hurts Like Heaven and Up In Flames are pretty good tracks too.


Princess of China... Okay i'm not going to trash this song just because of rihanna. I don't think the song is bad. I think it would be better if only Chris Martin sang on it. The thing I don't get is why even put rihanna on it? Personally I don't think the song is poppy enough to get played on pop radio, and with her singing on it, i don't see and rock/alt stations playing it if it ever got released as a single (which i'm assuming it will).

It all sucks apart from the songs we heard on tour, Charlie Brown, the one where Will sings and Major Minus is the best.

Finally got to around buying this. It's ok, probably their "worst" album if we were ranking their albums

Couple snoozers- Up In Flames, Us Against The World & Up With The Birds

Dug- Don't Let It Break your Heart, Major Minus & Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall

others are ok at best. Princess Of China actually I thought started out ok then went downhill after 30 seconds or so
