    I am a huge Kings fan and we were very sorry to see him go. I know that he made a direct plea to the GM to trade him back to Edm. -- and I am glad from a human side that the GM honored that request. Ryan was a great player and leader for us -- the hockey nut in me however is pissed we dont have such a steady veteran presence on our good you club.

    He will be missed!

    yeah, L.A. could have used him, was glad he was there for the time he was, always liked L.A. (I guess cause of Gretzky plus L.A is an awesome city) he IS what a hockey player should be all about: respect, class and hard work

    Smythie is a welcome return,
    especially given all the young talent
    the Oilers must develop this year.

    I hope Gagner can make it back
    onto the roster sometime before November too,
    but we shall see what we shall.

    I found this on the Oilers website...

    I heard he requested the trade back b/c his dad isn't doing well....
    He never should have been traded in the first place, Lowe admits this....
    Glad to have him back. We have 3 SOLID lines this year. Dubnyk steps up and we can address our needs on D, we could suprise some teams :)

    Yeah I recall seeing that he was traded, freaking out, then seeing why (family illness) and thinking that it was cool that we traded him. Shows how great a guy he is - most players would not get that response from their club. He did.
