Any MuteMath fans here who have heard the new album? Would love to hear your thoughts, especially those of you who have heard past albums (although thoughts from new fans are also very welcome!).

  • I by chance saw part of Mutemath's live show at HOB in Boston a few weeks ago and was blown away. I love their song Typical and so I was slightly familiar with them. For some reason I was under the impression they have a Maroon 5/Pop, Bopper fan base and reputation???
Anyway, live they were absolutely amazing. They came on stage by doing a drum line march from the back of the venue through the crowd. Their drummer is one of the best I've ever seen. What an electric and energetic dude.

LOVE Armistice, but Odd Soul just isn't hitting me. Also saw that Boston show and thought they were good, but not great. Was blown away by their talent (their musicianship is tremendous), but the set and the songs left me flat. They have a really accessible sound, but not a lot of hooks. They played for a while, but I didn't find the set to have much of a flow. I get the feeling if they worked with the right producer they could knock out a pretty epic album, but left to their own devices they can get a little self-indulgent.
