Ok everyone, I know alot of you have met the guys, please share your stories? I haven't had the pleasure of meeting any member of our beloved band yet and I would like to hear from those who have.
I did meet dave grohl in 2000 prior to a foo's show while someone was giving him a bunch of homemade brownies in the parking lot. I got to talk to him for about 15 minutes.
I met taylor hawkins in 2003 or 2004 at a record store where my friends band was playing with local h. afterwards he appeared out of nowhere to score weed from us. it was funny because none of us smoked.
I partied with no doubt (minus) gwen in 2001 after a no doubt show in KC.
I saw the last pumpkins show in saint louis in 2000 at the american theatre. DAve and Taylor were there in disguise. They were wearing fake beer guts, and those fake glasses nose combinations. They were there with louise post from veruca salt and stood with next to us in the pit the entire night. When I asked louise who here friends were they said they were dutch and talk in corny euro voices.
I have also met/partied a bunch of other fun musicians back in the day (2000 - 20004) prior to becoming a nerdy web designer...
I met Matt Cameron in a dive bar in Ballard one night. He was playing with a jazz band, no singer, like 10 people watching. HE was killing it on the drums. Went up and shook his hand after, introduced myself, kinda cool.
I first met Stone @ a Ben Harper gig here in Melbourne (which Brad were supporting) back in 97'... I almost died cause it was something that i TOTALLY never expected!!!
I then met Ed,Jeff,Mike,Stone & Jack in 98' when PJ toured Melbourne..I have alreasy posted about my experiences on the board before..need;ess to say that it was one of the BIGGEST highlights of my life, I met them @ the hotel that they were staying at.
I first off met Jeff, he was nice, mind you when i met him it was pretty early in the morning and i don't think he was really in the mood for fans..but he was gracious enough to sign for those who were there and take photo's which was cool!
I then met Mike who was SUPER nice, really sweet and talkative! the one thing that got me was that on this particular day my REALLY OLD camera wasn't working all that well and i wanted to get my photo taken with him..anyway what totally surprised me was that he hung around & waited while i got my camera going again & I got my photo taken!!!
Then Jack came out, he was alright, not very talkative, but he signed for those who were there.
Then Stone came out..Consdering how Obsessed I am with him, I totally shocked myself by not going up to him, I just stood back and didn't do anything, but then he walked over to myself & the person i was with and said "Have you got anything that you want me to sign?" which of course i did!
I was more surprised when he recognised me from the Ben Harper show!! Could NOT believe it!! He signed everything that I had (cd's, fan club singles & my own personal diary..which everyone signed!! )
The absolute HIGHLIGHT of my day was something that i TOTALLY NEVER expected to happen, I was hanging round the front of the hotel not really doing much when I noticed Ed walking toward the hotel...surprisingly i DIDN'T freak out, I just said "Hi Ed" and he came over, put his hand on my shoulder & said "y'know I'll sign whatever y'wan't, but no photo's" I obviously had to respect that..He was sooo nice and really cool, he signed everything that I had also and wrote a personal message in my diary saying "To Belinda, May you finish this book and many others - Eddie Vedder" Incorporated into his signature is the Yield sign VERY COOL!! I now have this and a couple of other things from this day framed and hanging in my Bedroom..so that my kids CANNOT ruin it!!!
It was TRULY one of the best days of my life and believe me I was on cloud nine ALL day..I still remember every little detail 10 years later, I've gotta hold on to these memories cause I know I'm NEVER gonna get to meet PJ again
If any of you want to check out my Memorabilia from this time it's on my Facebook page..PM me if y'wanna check it out and i'll let y'know my name
First Syd show in 06: My friend was working at Ticketek that night and after the show she walked out of the wrong exit and Eddie was standing there. So she rang me and put Eddie on the phone. We spoke for a few minutes. Then at the third show my sister and I were waiting at the loading dock and Eddie drove up and shook our hands. He remembered me!
I have had a bunch of experiences meeting different members of the band. But the first time that I met Eddie was the most memorable.
On April 9, 1993 I was San Francisco on vacation going to a concert with my cousins at The Cow Palace. It was a benefit concert for the Bosnian rape victims. Nirvana, L7, the Breeders and Disposable Heroes of Hiphoprisy.
Anyways, while sitting in the back seat of their Jeep limited thing with the window down a man approaches the back window and asks if we'd sign a petition. That man was Eddie! Walking around the parking lot with a clipboard!
So I told him that I would trade him signatures. I signed the petition and he was then ready so sign something for me. All I had on me was my Washington drivers license, my concert ticket and 2 $100 bills. He said that he wasn't comfortable signing any of those things so he pulled off a wide rubber band off of his wrist.
He says, " I hope you don't bring me bad luck" and then laughed. He showed me that he had written "Don't Die F#cker" on the rubber band. Hehehe He then wrote his name on the other side and handed it to me.
Amazing! So inside the Cow Palace I was really close to the front of the stage and I saw that he was off on the side watching all of the bands play. We made eye contact and he smiled and raised his wrist and smiled.
I still have the rubber band in a sealed container. It probably won't last forever but my memory will.
I met Ed in Montreal this summer after night 1. A friend and I had given up waiting for him to emerge from the theatre with the rest of the fans waiting, and starting walking to a pub. Out of another theatre door,he came out walking with security and I ran up to him while he was signing a couple people's playbills and stuck mine in the mix. When he got to mine, I told him "Thank you for the music and inspiration" and he stopped writing, looked up at me and said "you're welcome". I know, not a lot, but then he gave me a double take, seemed distracted by me, strangely, and then finished signing my playbill. Then he looked back at me, handed me back the playbill, paused and then said "you're beautiful". Yes, I will now die a happy woman. That made my life.
Wow, you must have felt amazing! Your self confidence is through the roof right?
Absolutely. I can't say I've felt this good about myself, ever. My husband has never even called me beautiful, I've always been "cute". Now he doesn't like Eddie half as much as he used to.
I didn't see him at first I just recognized the voice. He was infront of cafe talking to these young Spanish kids who were interested in his polaroid camera. I think it was the first one they had ever seen one. He was taking thier pictures and handing them them the polaroids and trying to communicate how it worked.
After a while I introduced myself and shook his hand telling him I was from canada and going to the show. He asked me if we had travelled to see them and I told him it was a bonus on our trip. He made a comment on how Barcelona looks like its from a comic book. He was right.
That night at the show he talked about the same kids... I have a picture of him and I somewhere.
Cool guy. Great show

Haha, I know what you mean, my hubby always says I'm 'cute' too.
I bet your husband was kicking himself after that!
Never met any of pj, but I met Art Alexakis (Everclear) several years ago at a summer-long series of free outdoor music festivals held in my city. Everclear weren't going on until after nightfall (main act for that month's show), but he came out around 2:30 p.m. to watch one of the local bands (we have plenty - tons of colleges here) who were starting to get some buzz around town. At this point in the day, there were only a hundred people or so actively watching whomever was playing, most were just hanging around and drinking, but he stared at the stage, looking sort of lost in thought.
I was watching the show when I recognized him, standing near me at the front, just staring. He turned to me, I told him I recognized him, we went through the typical "oh-could-you-sign-something-later-I've-listened-to-you-for-10-years, etc" and small talk about the city itself, when out of the blue he said, "you know, last night I was irritated getting on a plane to fly across the country, my daughter's at home sick, I hate dealing with security, all that, but watching these guys, I feel like an asshole. I mean, I'm being paid to do something I've always done for free anyway, and people want to see it. Look at these guys - 90% of the people here are ignoring them, but they're playing like they're in a packed arena, just for the few that are watching." We talked for a few more minutes (mostly about the local music scene) before he went and grabbed a copy of E's new (at the time) CD and had the band sign it.
He mentioned the musical anecdote later on during Everclear's set.
It was a very cool experience, and he's a great guy, but cautious.

Thats freaking AWESOME!!!! One of the coolest stories ive heard!!!
"....and was very surprised to see that he didnt actually have a recipe for anus-ankle soup." - Big Ed
stone's solo show in los angeles. there were no more than 10 fan club members there it seemed and i swear i think i was the only person in the whole house wearing a pj shirt.
i was singing along with his new songs that have been released through pearljam.com and i was right up front. he noticed me singing his new material and nodded at me a couple times.
this led to me getting his setlist that had his "thank you" notes written on it and a pick
I met Ed in the SEA-TAC Airport. I was waiting for a flight to LA and he came walking up. Wound up he was flying out that same day to Boston for the start of the East Coast Solo tour. Got to have a quick chat. He said he liked my hat and I said I liked his. Talked about Rich Harden going to the Cubs too. Then he went in his pocket and gave me a guitar pick before he walked over to his gate. Got to take a photo and the link is below!

I met Mike outside his hotel in Melbourne '03 as I was hanging around like a bad smell to catch a glimpse of anyon!! He rolled up in the rental car and I got a photo and a signed Ticket stub of the great man.
If anyone has seen that immagine in cornice dvd i can vouch for the fact that he actually does hang around with everyone until every last photo and autograph desired has been completed and then say goodnight - a true fans man!!! Onya Mike!.
I've been mistaken for Eddie in a dark bar before. So no, I've never met any of the guys, but I guess I've kinda had the reverse. The chick was drunk, so obviously I had to play along. I'm sure she woke up the next day, excitedly looked for the picture of her and Eddie Vedder and realized "Shit, that's just some dude"
I know it may sound cruel to trick someone like that, but she should have known better. What would Eddie Vedder be doing in a dingy bar in Winnipeg, wearing a Winnipeg Jets hockey jersey, hanging out with a group of scuzzy punks at the back of the bar? I guess it didn't dawn on her that nobody else was asking for autographs and pictures.
