I do miss the young version of the redheaded maid from last season. :D
We got the old version, now we need the young one back.

Anyone make it through the season?

I thought the thing was excellent all the way through. I was engaged in every episode. Great storylines, great acting, great depiction of the time periods, etc. Was really happy with the way it was tied up too, which is where last season failed badly IMO. It was great for like 6 episodes, then unraveled, dragged, and had a poor ending.

I did. I liked it, but I must say I enjoyed Season 1 a little better. I was impressed how, out of the total chaos that was this season, they tied and wrapped up the story lines at the end.

Just finished it tonight. I enjoyed this season more than last till these last two episodes. Seemed to me like they crammed too much into the two episodes. The whole alien thing I could have done without more Bloody Face would have been cool.

    spoiler below

I was a bit nervous how most of the antagonists were extinguished with 3-4 episodes left... But I did like how they showed the end result of each character (except for Lana), and didnt just close Briarcliff, then everyone just go on their merry way. Normally, all that stuff would be hastily crammed into the last 4 minutes of a movie with a narrorator, but I liked watching it played out.

The 1st season I hated how as ghosts they were suddenly a happy family decorating a Christmas tree. The whole mode of the story was that each ghost was stuck in the negative existence of their life (such as the feuding gay guys). This family was pretty mizz, and for some reason they were happy. It ruined the whole point of the story for me.

I was a little disappointed in some of the things they glossed over, like the alien thing...really never elaborated on that story much nor explained why Kit was special to the aliens etc. Also the whole possession storyline, the evil little girl who showed up just vanished from the story, and what happened to the devil when Sister Mary Eunice died (We're to believe he just died with her when we already saw him jump from one body to another when he possessed her?, Weak).

They tied up thewhole Bloody Face/Lana story line, but ignored all the supernatural/extraterrestrial stuff as far as explanations.

Being from Mass I liked the local angle, the accents weren't bad but they f'ed one thing up in the penultimate episode...the scene where Kit and Lana go for coffee, on the window the sign says "Bolyston Cafe", they goofed on the spelling as I'm sure they intended it to be "Boylston Cafe", small thing but surprised they let is slip by, probably the set painter f'ed it up and the director figured nobody would notice, he didn't figure on the likes of me watching though.

supernatural/extraterrestrial stuff kind of gets ruined when it is explained too thoroughly

Ive only seen the first season, but I admit, I agree with Mayday, it fell apart at the half way point, and I lost interest quickly. Still finished it, but I wasnt planning on seeing season 2. But maybe i'll check it out when it comes to netflix.
Pick up my debut novel here on amazon: Jonny Bails Floatin (in paperback) (also available on Kindle for $2.99)

The only thing I got out of the Aliens storyline was that Kits DNA was obviously important to them. The two children he had with the two other women had "other-wordly gifts", like when they took Jude into the Woods and cured her of her insanity.
The two kids then went onto be successful grownups.

Just finished up Asylum. Nodded off during the finale. It was a little slow, and I am a lot tired.

Not bad altogether, though. I'll watch the next season.
