Framed Poster Thread

edited September 2008 in The Porch
I know there is already a thread where we can all post pics of our framed posters, but I can't find it anymore. Could someone please send me the link, I have a few posters that still need to be framed and am always open to ideas.

Thanks!

  • thanks for the link, much appreciated
  • So I’m a semi-noobto the poster game. All the ones I’ve done have been 18x24 and just straight fit then in discounted Michaels frames.
So my question is, what’s a reliable site to have my ‘07 Düsseldorf done? It’s an oddball size I think but it’s my favorite one I own so I’d like it done nicely.  So any suggestions?
And if anyone has some pics for ideas,. Thanks!

Anybody have advice on shipping a framed poster? Advice other than “don’t do it”?

Copious amounts of bubble wrap. You can also pay UPS or FedEx to pack it for you but it's not cheap

Thanks! Yeah we have a placed called Postal Connections here that will pack it all up too…might be even more expensive than UPS or Fed Ex. I had a framed poster shipped from Canada once and of course the glass was broken when it arrived. Frame went in the trash but the poster survived fortunately.

Picked this up today. I’m pretty happy with it. Took them 3 tries to get the ticket centered though 😂

That purple variant looks awesome!  Glad they got the ticket right.  It would drive me crazy if it wasn’t properly centered.

Bummer. Had that happen once and the poster wasn't so lucky. Was a shoddy packing job though. Have also shipped and received many with no damage and typically there's many, many layers of wrap so it can absorb a hit and won't slide around in the box

So with AP’s, do you guys frame them and cover the numbers and signature, or do you leave them visible? Just curious what the general common practice is around here.

Thank you! Yeah, it wouldn’t have been too noticeable if it wasn’t for the point at the bottom of the poster, which is dead center of the print. I hated to bring it back to just get it shifted over slightly, but that’s where my eyes went every time I looked at it.

Nope, no need to cover them. Mine are all visible.

I like this new thread! I recently acquired a 1998 Yield tour poster. Framed in laminate. Super stoked to share a photo later!

I’ve shipped two framed prints via FedEx. Worth every dollar. They have a few types of art boxes they ship in.
