This is my own opinion, but every time I listen to Black I get something new out of it rather than the meaning that is simply implied in the song. I listen to Black when I'm happy, sad, excited, bummed, etc. Like lately I was in my truck listening to it on the way to my 9 o'clock class and i interpreted it as a song of hope and welcoming in the arms of someone close to you (don't ask me how). But this happens with a lot of songs by PJ i listen too!!! just, your thoughts :)

    +1 ;)
  • Happens to me with a lot of their songs too... I never cease to pick up yet another interpretation for songs I've been listening to for 18 years.
Very few poets have the ability to expose their feelings in a way that you'll end up making them your own over and over and even if you're feeling completely different each time and also different than what the poet felt when he was writing.
Eddie is one of those. Can't really use the word lyricist precisely because of this.
