quotes from 10c newsletter #24...
"Brett (Eliason) is going to go through the vault and select some of the more requested performances to be released though pearljam.com These classics from the archives will start to become available sometime this year."
so #24 of the newsletter is pretty old...did any of this ever happen?
i know we hear a lot of complaining about 10c here. im not trying to add to it but its their own fault if they make claims and never come through on them...

THE 10C DIGITAL LOUNGE SCENE REPORT(dated 10-3-08)
It's been a quiet week here, watching debates and playoff games. But some special Digital Lounge projects will be kicking off this month and keep rolling right into 2009. We're excited and we hope you will be too.

I think you mean whatever it is, it will be short lived.
well im all for 10c, and im thankful for everything they do...
i would be stoked on any releases from the vault....art and music!
im sure that huge stack of maui 98 posters sitting in the vault would sell....i wish.
soundboard vault would blow me away....
Posts like this just make me too damn excited.
its great they have such an extensive vault but let us at it! (the pics on the inside of lost dogs make me dream, the ones that show rows and rows of recordings)
phish has been releasing shows from their archives for years now. both phish and pearl jam led the way with digital downloads and cds of their shows. widespread panic was quick to follow. but now only phish and wsp are releasing classic older shows as well as their current ones (well, no current shows for phish obviously.)
catch up pearl jam! release some of those old gems!
im waiting for officailly released, soundboard quality, cds of shows for the past....instead of some crappy sounding mp3-quality digital copy from an audience recording...
10c has also hinted at artwork being released from the vault and this stuff isnt available all over the internet for free....
what im hoping for is something like this: http://drygoods.phish.com/Dept.aspx?cp=773_14732 an 8 disc set of live music, covering 3 complete live shows from 1993.
not that pearl jam doesnt, but these guys know how to keep their fans happy....
what? like an official bootleg of the show? explain.
Constitution Hall '95... it's soundboard quality. I just never realized that "The Vault" was probably the source.

Apparently it was put up on the download site very briefly during a test run prior to the 06 tour and someone (or maybe a few) was able to snatch it.
Is that available anywhere to download?
You can buy both Metallica and Rancid live shows from their respective websites.
Metallica give away quite a lot of their older performances for free.
The only problem w/ Metallica's stuff is that the mp3s are only @ 128K. In this day and age, that's just lame. The free older shows are pretty cool, though.

People who buy MP3s are less discriminating anyway, so who cares? They offer their shows in FLAC for anyone who has eardrums.
torrent sites, probably.
