also saw ann wilson with her band. tons of great non-heart covers, including a couple of quadrophia songs that she nailed.

It was fantastic! I loved them live. I had just received the Margo Price vault package from Third Man on Saturday, but I held off on watching the Live at Austin City Limits DVD until after I saw them live for myself. Definitely was not disappointed.

opened with the real me and love reign to close the main set. it was a massive surprise considering i think quad is the best album ever made, by anyone. and not a lot of performers can do justice to those quad roger tunes but she was awesome!
also her other choices for covers were A++ selections IMO

I saw The Tea Party last night at the Commodore Ballroom. WOW. What a great show!!!!!! That was my first time seeing them.... I won't ever miss another one. Jeff Martin has an insanely good stage presence and communicates with the audience so much, which I love. I didn't realize the band is so engaging on stage. They also played around with covers in a cool way- they used tags at the start, middle, and end of songs. Surprise little appearances of U2, Led Zeppelin, and Pink Floyd songs. Also a couple of those cool sing-along moments that every PJ fan enjoys - the whole shebang. Super duper fun. :)

This is a good year for concerts for me. Best part is that I got all of my tickets without having to go through the secondary market.

May 12 U2 opening night of Joshua Tree World Tour, Vancouver BC
May 14 U2, CenturyLink Field Seattle
May 19 Fleet Foxes, Showbox Seattle
Sept 22 Explosions in the Sky, Showbox Seattle
Oct 2 Saint Etienne, Neptune Theater

Isn't that nice? I am thrilled to have not paid more than face for any of the shows I am going to this summer also. I even took it a step further and purchased nosebleed and lawn tickets in a few instances. = more concerts for less ;)
