Thinking about Portis Head and Ziggy Marley.
q
missing ziggy marley would be a big mistake....fyi
saw him last year and will see him again this year
his new cd is amazing
So, helplessdancer, after reading your recomendation to not miss Ziggy Marley I tossed and turned for a few sleepless nights and I decided I had to pass on Ziggy. He's playing at Toronto's worst venue (The Sound Academy), and I really need to save money to purchase tix to FELA the musical. I'm a big Fela Kuti fan and really want to see this show. Decision made! That is until the REGGAE GODS smiled on me and dropped a free pair of tix to see Ziggy Marley tomorrow night. I had completely forgotten that I entered a contest to win tix, and just got confirmation of my win yesterday.

I thought the show was real good, but I think the Austin Music Hall SUCKS and is one of the worst venues I have been to and I have seen hundreds of concerts all around the country and yes Codes and Keys is a fine album.

Yeah Austin Music Hall isn't the greatest venue but it's better than Stubbs. I'm 5'3" and can't see anything at Stubbs. We were up in the balcony and they definitely sell way more tickets than they have room for up there. Not only were we packed in like sardines but many of the areas up there have seriously obstructed views.

I don't like Stubb's that much either, unless I'm in back where you can hear good and not have to stand @ and angle the whole show, the Death Cab show should have been @ The ACL Moody Theater, I was kind of in shock when the announced the show and it wasn't there.
So after my PJ20 run plus 2 Canada shows, I have a nice little run coming up in Nov. and Dec.:
Nov. 13 - Foos (MSG)
Nov. 18 - Dave & Tim (United Palace)
Nov. 21 - Chris Cornell (Carnegie Hall)
Dec. 14 - MMJ (MSG)
"McCready played on, lending credence to the theory that he was actually built in Stone’s basement from spare truck parts and vinyl records." - Glide Mag. review of MSG 7/8/03
30 years ago, I would not have been caught dead at a Prince concert (metalhead that I was). But, as my musical boundaries expanded, I realized that the man can write a catchy tune and can sure play any instrument anytime he puts his mind to it. Should be a great show.
Ottawa 2011
London 2013 "The Dundas Hookers on Crack" Show
Some guy named BB King at the brand new Paramount Theater in Huntington (Long Island), NY on the 21st. 11th row.
Drummer Tony Comeman granted me a stick. I asked him why BB introduces everyone bit him. "Cause I got the sticks." Man has a way with words. BB and band are so good. If you've never seen, you will regret if you don't see him now.
Also got pick pin he tosses out in the dozens.
