Besides Jack White in August, none. :frowning: No shows that I'm interested in, from small to huge acts, are being announced for Vancouver so far this year. It's really disappointing. What the fuck is going on?

    This looks decent actually
Yeah, but I hate summer festivals, unfortunately. I don't like warm weather, so spending the day outside in a crowd in the summer heat is my idea of torture, lol. But that does sound cool for people who do festivals (The Killers put on a great show... I'm not a big fan of Florence and the Machine) ... I just hope Stanley Park holds up to the crowds without too much damage. I know the organizers have said that they "expect to leave the park in better shape than they found it", but I honestly don't see how that's possible. We'll see I guess! It does sounds like they're going fancy-pants with this fesitval. They're talking about high end restaurants having trucks there, and something about pop-up finer dining experiences, art exhibitions or something, craft beer, wine, and cocktails being highlighted, shit like that. Doesn't sound like your usual party-time, drunk 21 year old type of event.... Sounds more like it will be a serious yuppy party, lol. I still worry about people walking off into the woods with cigarettes or joints or whatever and burning the damn park down. The park is always on extreme fire hazard alert that time of year.

After a many years of not seeing many shows in a year, 2018 is already shaping up to be a record year (post-having kids).

I'm at work and can't look up my full list right now, but I'm excited to have just added Arctic Monkeys to my list, and not even in my town - in Boston because it's the day before the 1st Radiohead in Boston show.  And then Boston again for the Fenway PJ shows... My family is gonna be SO MAD at me, although I am dragging them to Boston for one of these 2 weekends...

Feeling really excited about it all!

    Have tickets to:
    Soccer Mommy (May 1)
Pearl Jam (Sept. 2 and Sept. 4)

    Still considering:
    Eric B. & Rakim (April 8)
Neko Case opening for some dude called Ray Lamontagne (June 23 or June 24); I'm more inclined to wait for a headlining show from her, though
Elton John (November 6 or March 6)
    I SAW PEARL JAM

Dude, Boston is the first stop for Eric B. & Rakim. A ticket is nearly $50 with fees. That might be more than I'm willing to gamble.

that's a little steep. I would pay that to see Public Enemy or Wu-Tang but Rakim is more in the $30 range.

Public Enemy and Wu-Tang still play live shows fairly often. I think it's only been a couple of years since I've seen PE (thanks, Prophets of Rage  ); I haven't seen Wu-Tang since ODB left us.

I don't know how many years it's been since Eric B. & Rakim have toured together. The cues are fucking sick. I guess they could can a lot of it, but that would negate the whole purpose of seeing them live together.

Loving this exchange! I still plan to buy my ticket for Erik B & Rakim, but I agree, the price is a bit steep for this show.  But I think I'll regret it if I don't.

I'm in DC so I'd be 6th stop. I understand your caution about being on 1st stop... But I'd probably go anyway.  Which reminds me, probably should take care of this now!
