Sad Fan Playlist

Hey folks,

I'm a new member, but a long time fan. The very first CD I ever bought was Ten. This was back when CD's first become mainstream and affordable..... well, for a ten year old!

I'm 27, engaged, and our lives together are fantastic. The two of us have been in search for a puppy for a few weeks. We finally found an 8 week old Maltese puppy through a friend of mine, exactly what we wanted.

We took her to the vet yesterday morning to find out she has a SEVERE heart murmur, and the procedures to fix it can easily reach the several thousand dollar range, with no guarantees. My fiance and I searched long and hard for the perfect animal, and are both pretty much devastated by the bad news. Worse yet, the friend of mine is backing out on her promise to refund our money if anything was found to be a problem health wise.

I WOULD LIKE YOUR HELP and suggestions of songs that may make me / us feel a little better. PJ has always helped in the past to ease painful events, but we're just so blown away, that it's tough to think about.

So list what YOU would want to hear in our shoes.

Here is Sally:

  • I'm sorry for your situation. I know how you feel. After almost the same thing happened to my dog I liked to listen to some of these songs a lot.
    Man of the Hour
    Alive
    Present Tense
    Off He Goes
    All Those Yesterdays
    Light Years
    Love Boat Captain
    Hail, Hail
    Immortality
    Yellow Ledbetter
I also just put Nothing as it Seems on repeat for about a day.

    I hope this helps

That's not cool. That's a really sad story. As someone who's spent several thousand dollars on surgeries for pets, I know what a terrible situation that can be. I have good faith that things will work out for you Matt. If they don't, perhaps its an opportunity for you and your partner to rescue one of the thousands of abused and abandoned pets who need the love and attention of a good home. The ASPCA does tremendous work.....

Thanks for all of your views and suggestions. They really helped us.

The breeder fought round after round with us over the phone, and refused to honor her word and reputation. We told her our plans, and how it was, and she decided to meet in the middle. So we got most of our money back, and Sally will get her procedure done, just with the breeder as the owner, not us.

This is a huge weight lifted from us, because her heartbeat sounded like a washing machine, and we worried about her on a walk or sleeping at night. (as in would she wake up)

We learned a lot about cash transactions, friends, and RECEIPTS through this emotionally trying time. Thankfully members here, and the band, helped us get through it.

    Present Tense
    In Hiding
    Comeback
