50/50 - PJ
Sorry if this has been posted but I hadn't seen it and couldn't find it.
My brother just sent me a text that there is a Pearl Jam song at the end of the 50/50 movie.
He didn't know what it was but I'm guessing Yellow Ledbetter.
So from the Bee Gees, which was an amazing counterpoint to that scene where he filmed after chemo, to some of the new indie stuff that we were able to find, to the Pearl Jam at the end, that is the last song we play and by that point it’s such an important moment in the movie and that’s the song that I loved, it was the B side of an album but it’s my favorite Pearl Jam song.”

I MISS YOU ALREDDIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
PJ 20 Alpine Valley 9/3/11, Eddie Vedder Albuquerque 11/6/12
The soundtrack is particularly strong, especially because you have bands — like Pearl Jam and Radiohead — that normally aren’t featured in films. How were you able to secure those rights?
SR: Yeahhh, it wasn’t easy.
WR: It was not easy. It was not easy.
SR: It was a budgetary thing. Often in a movie of this scale — it’s an $8 million movie — if you want songs like that you have to go around with a hat and collect money and get the songs.
Well, it paid off; “Yellow Ledbetter” is a perfect capper to the film.
SR: That is very gratifying to hear. It makes the money we paid worth it. [Laughs] Every time I hear that song, I see a pile of money in flames.
I wanted to see it even before I know it has a PJ song in it.
