The minute I meet a woman who loves Pearl Jam as much as I do, I will propose on the spot.

  • Kind of related: I took a party bus to the first PJ20 show at Alpine Valley, and we stopped at a hotel to pick up a man and a woman at a hotel right by the venue. The guy proposed to her right outside the bus in front of everyone. They had traveled from Georgia (I think) to see the shows and they both had this intense love for Pearl Jam, so of course it was the perfect time for him to propose. It was one of the coolest things I've ever seen. There was such a cool comradery on that bus - a whole bunch of people from all over the country enjoying it together. I won't forget it.
  • That story is awesome. Thanks for sharing. :D

seems like taken from a movie! I met my wife because of grunge music... then, the day I proposed to her we ended up dancing Around the Bend... and we danced Low Light at our wedding too (+ When I'm down) :)

    LOL ok deal.

Going off this thread, what would be the perfect PJ song to play as your first song at a wedding? I know "Just Breathe" sticks out, but what are some other ones?

Hard one...Interpret it whatever way one wants but Thin Air would be a good one!
  • Had a girl I loved, but she did not love Ed or the boys. Was so stoked to go to my first PJ concert back in '09. She sat down the entire time and was texting her friends while I rocked out with the random people beside me. She the started complaining before, yes, before the first encore that it wasn't over yet.

I was waiting for 'Better Man' which they played second to last. So as they finished I agreed to leave. Then they played Yellow Ledbetter while we were walking out. I almost cried and wouldn't talk for hours...

I saw them again last month, now single and not worrying about anyone wanting to leave and had a blast. If I find someone who loves this band as much as me, I will marry them without a doubt and name my kids Stone, Matt, Ed, Mike and Boom!

What a buzz-kill for you in '09! I had a similar experience with someone as well. I am no longer with him, either!

That is awesome! That was an awesome 2 day concert - I will never forget it either - as I hope a lot of people won't!! I unfortunately had to watch 2 people (guy n girl) fight - I wanted to bitch slap them for arguing during pearl jam - apparently they weren't listening too closely - it was PEARL JAM!

females always get a bad rap that we can't or don't love pearl jam just as much as male fans do.
and not love like slut groupies, who want to sleep w/ ed, but really love the music.
there are women in the universe who helplessly love the music
who really truely love pearl jam and understand the magical experience
and the musical healing powers of the best band ever! (besides pink floyd)

around the bend.. perfect choice. Oh & Just responding a quick 'I do ' to the original question. :)
I totally agree with you,it's a trait worth seeking in a person .. Might start placing a few adverts myself. Had fun with this -

    Beegirl, 27. GSOH & MFC.
    Likes EWBTCOAST & WMA.
Enjoys leaning out to catch the sun's rays.
Seeks betterman for an all encompassing trip :)

    .... I might actually do this :)
Sometimes I speak of nothing at all.
  • I'm marrying my PJ man on the 25th of this month. We emet here in 2007, started dating in Feb 2008 and he proposed after the Wulheide show in 2010... it was perfect for us and I know I am so lucky to have found someone who shares my love for the band
Been to this many PJ shows: Reading 2006 London 2007 Manchester & London 2009 Dublin, Belfast, London, Nijmegen & Berlin 2010 Manchester 1 & Manchester 2 2012...

... and I still think Drive-By Truckers are better.

That weekend was incredible enough, and to know it incited a proposal just rocks! Definitely my dream the perfect place. To the happy couple, congratulations!!

Additionally, to loveatree, AMEN. On every level. (led zeppelin too, though!)
