Listening to the Devonshire Mixes which is the Nevermind album by Butch Vig before Andy Wallace polished it off for release to the public.

I have to say after hearing the original Nevermind album for 20 years and not knowing anything else, I am loving the original Butch Vig mix. It seems Andy Wallace added TONS of reverb to the songs and toned Kurts voice down a bit. Butch's mix is so much cleaner, crisper and much more distinct in my opinion. Glad to finally own this and I think the Devonshire mixes will be my "go to" from now on.
He who forgets will be destined to remember.

  • The snare drum sounds so lame and 80's on Vig's mix...Wallace majorly fixed that by blending in digital samples...who would have thought?
