looks like TNT has the SCF. neither their announcers nor ESPN's are great but I like ESPN's less. at least I don't have to suffer through any more emily kaplan.

Both intermission crews are good but PK's VR was terrible.

I will join 95% of the planet in rooting for edmonton.

Oilers are on a role, but I think they are going to miss Hyman's physicality big time against the Panthers

Oil has home ice this time and that should help as lot of their metrics especially the PP are better at home

That McDavid goal was sensational. It's nice to win the lottery I guess.

after watching way more hockey than normal for the past few weeks, I’m thinking these guys might be the most skilled professional athletes of ALL professional athletes. It’s insane, skating at whatever MPH and making pinpoint passes (usually) and (usually) knowing exactly where you should be, whether on offense or defense.

Football? yeah, you have your “skill positions” but we all know how to run, throw and catch. plus, there’s plenty of O Line positions where the biggest qualifier is being 350 pounds.

Baseball? they say hitting a major league pitch is the hardest thing in professional sports and I believe it. but you can be a one tool player like big sloppi and still make millions.

NBA? some guys are crazy skilled but others, like rudy gobert, are just tall. rudy can’t really dribble or shoot and has hands of stone.

Tennis? no way I could even return a serve.

Golf? a lot of skill but I don’t consider a lot of those guys athletes.

    soccer? no.
I am 1000% with you on this. I tried playing ice hockey for a bit, and let's just say I'm athletic. I was drenched just passing back and forth.
So add the speed, strength (their legs are crazy), and then the on the fly strategy. Coaches are making decisions / changing matchups every stoppage and line change that you never see.
Yeah their bodies take a toll compared to other sports.
No other sport loses teeth at the same rate either lol.

And mentioning soccer in your post lol? I can't stand their flops.
puck to face - stitches and face guard - back to finish the game - let's go!
Wouldn't it be funny if the world ended in 2010, with lots of fire?

I agree on the nightly damage a player takes but so many of them play into their late 30s and 40s. Look at Perry still getting it done. So while it is obviously very physical, players have much longer careers than in football where the shelf life is about ten years.

What I love about hockey is that you don’t have to be big to be great. So many examples of smaller guys being great. That being said, I think NBA players are out of this world athletically. Look at LeBron. 6 9”, monstrous and ran a 4.4. How is that possible?  And the soft skills to have touch, finesse, passing ability, etc has always led me to think they are the most elite. I’d want them on my side in a battle royal.

I don't care who wins as I just want to see a good back and forth Series that goes 6-7 games.

true, but like I said, you also have the rudy goberts...guys that are just tall...and making $37M per year.

that said, there are crazy skilled guys in the NBA.

Ok fair but I’d stop rather have him with me in a bar fight vs Martin St Louis. But not Bob Probert.

just watched a 30 for 30 and learned, for the first time, of the John Dpano/Islanders debacle. That was some crazy shit.

I would have thought Spano might have learned his lesson but he’s served time for fraud (at least) two times since.

That 30 for 30 was wild!

Hoping for the Canadian hockey team curse to be lifted this year. We'll see tonight if McDavid is actually hurt or not.
