Should be a good finals match-up between Tampa Bay and Dallas
does anyone give a shit about those two teams?
    Yeah. Sorry your teams suck.

my team is VGK...the only warm weather team worth giving a fuck about.
It must the history and tradition.  Or how Vegas is such a great town.

    all of that

seriously, tho, there is a pretty deep connection because VGK started up right after the monte carlo massacre and did a lot to help the community “heal.”

Why did they play back to back days in the cup final?

Like it’s baseball and 80% of the players do jack shit for 9 innings

My guess is not to compete with Sunday night football which is also on NBC.  Seems like they could have taken Friday off instead and given the extra day of rest.

They had 5 months off and have played what, maybe 30 games...jeesh.  There is no travel and they likely just walk across the street from their hotel to the arena.  They can manage...

They would never do that during normal circumstances but since they are bubbled and there is no travel they can pull it off.
I think most of the players are in favor of it as well so they can wrap up the series as soon as possible and get out of the bubble/home to their families.

Gotta give the NHL credit. I thought they did a great job with the bubble.  It was great having hockey back and loved having the afternoon games early in the playoffs.  Best team won it.

Agreed, pretty amazing that they did everything so safely. Glad the players can go home to their families now.
Wouldn't it be funny if the world ended in 2010, with lots of fire?

  • Overall, I thought the playoffs were great.  I thought the Stars would've stuck with the Bolts longer, but Tampa Bay has a great team.  Ready for next season already.

For sure.  Awesome job by the NHL.  Sounds like they won't be back until after Christmas.  Will be interesting to see what they do for next season....NHL has definitely been hurt the most by not having any fans there.

Is that what they're saying, after Christmas?  I thought I read that the NHL was committed to an 82 game schedule.  That would bleed well into summer again and screw up next season's start.

NHL and NBA have both claimed they are playing 82 next season, yet are both starting after Christmas (NBA wanted to start on Christmas day but now looking like January), so curious to see what schedules look like when they come out. Either going to really cut back on off days(which I doubt, players, especially in the NBA wouldn't stand for that) or go into at least late summer again for playoffs.
    This weekend we rock Portland

talking to a Vegas friend today...ESPN said Fleury’s contract is the worst the Knights have...my buddy said Fleury was on the block for two days and then not...I guess the NHL wants to compress the season into as much as five games a week...knights decided two good goalies wouldn’t be a bad thing.
