I have no problem with no NHL players in the olympics.  IMO, there have only been 1 or 2 decent olympic tournaments since the inclusion of NHL players.  The past tournament in Sochi was a snoozefest.   I dislike halting the NHL season for two weeks and extending the season even further/cramming the season.  I also dislike the possibility of a star player(s) getting injured.
Agree.  The olympics are supposed to be for amatuer athletes.

The star players had no problem playing in the Olympics. I'm pretty sure that just about all of them wanted to play. It doesn't matter to me when the NHL shuts down for  2 weeks. It's only once every 4 years. Star players can easily get hurt playing in a NHL game , too.
We will see how badly they want it back in the next CBA discussions.  I would wager it will rank pretty low on their priority list.

Russia just got banned from the 2018 winter Olympics for being a bunch of Cheaty McCheatypants in Sochi.  So no KHL players which means USA vs Canada final looks imminent
In some way that sucks, because you like to see the best compete, but they deserve what they got.

The World JR Championships might be better then the Olympics. SUCKS the NHL is not letting ther players play.
It's stupid is what it is. The olympics are specifically for the BEST athletes to compete against one another. Without the NHL players in the Games, it's just the best mediocre hockey players competing... honestly, I'd probably have more fun going down to the local rink and watching the beer leagues play. I will not be tuning into Olympic hockey anymore, which is a huge bummer, because that obviously used to be the absolute highlight.... I understand why the NHL made the decision, but I still think it's a stupid one. And a really wussy one.

I would be wondering wtf is happening with Russia's team - will there still be one represented under the Olympic flag?? - but now I really couldn't care less either way. :disappointed:

I never really watched women's hockey. I just fast forward through the whole game, stopping only when I see someone scored to enjoy the celebration, and then watch the last 3 minutes of the game. I don't think women's hockey is particularly entertaining I'm afraid. I guess I'm supposed to like it, as a woman - it's not very PC of me at all, lol. And now that the NHL players are out, that is what I'll be doing with the men's too. I suppose I am simply exclusively interested in the best hockey in the world. Anything less is meh.

If Seattle wants a NHL team, the price will be $650 Million

The World Junior Tournament has been ruined.

Nobody is attending.  Prices are too high/ridiculous.  They also played with the stupid packages for too long (you need to buy all the games, then make smaller packages available, then finally sell individual game tickets at the last minute)... I love it, I bought packages the minute they went on sale... but anyone on the fence were priced out as well as Canadians with a weaker Canadian dollar and saturation of 2 overpriced tournaments in the past 3 years in TOR and MTL.

    Crawford on IR again.... UUUUUUUGGGGGGHHHHHH!!!
My thoughts exactly he's one of my three goalies in fantasy hockey and was playing well until that ugly showing against the Devils.

Turned on the US game for a bit last night....can't believe how empty that place was.  Crazy.  Silly that they only sell the tickets in packages at first.  You would think that they would have changed things a bit when they were struggling to sell tickets even in Canada last time.

The  NCAA frozen four was in Chicago last year and they had the same thing with packages.  Prices were crazy expensive....I didn't even consider going once I saw the prices.  For a sport that is nowhere near the level of the other 3 main sports in the US, these hockey organizations don't seem to be doing themselves many favors for attracting fans for these big events with the way with the ticket pricing/packages.

Any red wing fans here that attend games at LC arena?  just wondering do they sell player t-shirts?   Looking for a Frk #42 (on back), hopefully RW Logo on front, is there such a thing?

I like the Bills, but putting the world juniors in Bills hockey jerseys is the worst decision since Ned Stark pleaded guilty to King Joffrey
