It's a bloodbath in Washington tonight.  I'm pretty close to DC so I know a lot of fans.  I'm starting to feel bad for them.  They seem like they have four good teams that just underachieve every year.

I don't know enough to analyze hockey, but sometimes it feels like it's all about effort.

Sometimes... but most of the time that it looks that way, it is just that the opposing team is playing great (aka) trapping, clogging up passing and shooting lanes, winning the puck possession battle, etc

the teams playing well move together in an almost synchronized way. Like Pittsburgh last night was on every puck and their guys were in the right position on almost every possession.

MR Game 7 was a force in that 2nd period....thought for sure one of those scrappy plays were going to go in for him.  2nd goal allowed just took the wind out of their sails.  Crap.
    Go Sens, Go Preds!

One of the best Caps teams ever couldn't get past the Pens and Crosby's mush-brain

Go Ducks. Hoping the Sens wipe out the Pens.
That seems to be the best Caps team Ovechkin has had and still couldnt do it. Amazing that he has never been to a Conference finals in all his time playing.
Although it would be difficult due to salary, if I the GM, I look at trading him. It would help reset their team/organization for years.
And so you see, I have come to doubt

I can't stand the Ducks because I can't get over them being a marketing tool for the stupid movie...or vice versa.

Anaheim is not in Los Angeles. But your anger toward the Fucks is right on.
