I actually think it is bs to slash and then not agree to drop the gloves. You do the crime you pay the time. If you have had concussion issues and can't play rough then don't do bullshit like big slashes.
That stated, Domi can sit in the team box for the rest of the pre-season. Not a good look for him, although as shared above I don't think it is that bad.

The typical hope train is getting fired up in Buffalo.
Realistically, I am hoping they surpass the Senators, Habs, and Red Wings in the Northeast/Atlantic/whateverthefuck they named it Division. Bonus for passing the Panthers. Would like them to stay in the wild card chase well past the new year. Need Skinner to be relatively productive and them to either re-sign him, or flip him at the deadline.
a few predictions (bold or stupid???) for 2018-2019 season
A team from Canada will win the Cup. Winnipeg seems to be the consensus but don't sleep on Calgary Vegas and the Penguins fail to make the playoffs more than 1 player will score 50 and Ovechkin will not be one of the them

I like that - the Leafs are going to contend as well. Believe they are the odds-on favorite in sports books right now.
Unfortunately, I think this is not going to be a good year for my beloved Kings.
Who knows, with that D and G, things could work out. Carts being back and adding old man Ilya could help.

I'm worried it may be a disappointing year for my Blue Jackets. Seth Jones and Ryan Murray are already going to miss a few weeks with injuries and then there's the Panarin and Bobrovsky contract situations lingering.
I hate it when people, especially media put out their "predictions" and the entire thing is virtually a copy of the previous year's standings.
Arizona has some good young pieces and a blue line who can really be a force. A lot of "ifs". Would need a goaltender to be great.
I think Svechnikov will get the numbers, especially to fit in my scenario of Carolina grabbing the wild card. Its tough for a defenseman to get the Calder to begin with.... Dahlin is great, but I do expect some growing pains and an adjustment to north america. Mittelstadt hasnt looked great in preseason, but Im not worried. I dont see him being as productive as Svechnikov out of the box.

I couldnt figure out why it was illegal. It wasnt a charge (took 2 strides), and hit him on the front (taking into account the puck carrier twisted at the last second with that half-assed shot). Watched the NHL's video (which IMO much of the time is nonsense), and it explained it quite well.
Pretty much said it was an overall legal hit and the puck carrier needs to LTFO. But the violent contact with the head is the infraction. They showed the video clearly had the primary contact with the head.
I know it shouldnt matter.... but no reason to do that in the preseason for an established NHLer.
Umm so the Predators unveiled a Western Conference regular season champions banner last night????? They didn't even make it to the western conf finals!!! That is so embarrassing.

Almost as dumb as the Capitals raising a "Winter Classic" banner.
I know Detroit is in rebuild mode but the last two games were beyond brutal. Bench Larkin and Mantha.... play 2-3rd lines, they are more hungry for action. I shook my head watching a goal last night by MTL, Larkin and Mantha in front eating chips while MTL skates in and chips er in. I see more edge with Glendening/Helm.
Poor Det goalies, 4 vet D out with rookies in front of them. I like Jensen and Sulak though.
I still don't understand why they would bring Vanek back.
end rant.
