I don't watch a ton of hockey, but that red wings goalie really fucked up.

I disagree. It's a legitimate play. Just didn't pan out. Good season. Hope to see you next season Pavel!!

again, I'm no expert, but it seems to me 2 minutes left in a tied elimination game.....stay in goal.

Not so sure about ... he was awol most of that series, he's 39 ... open up the roster spot for someone like Mantha ... however I do not think the wings are a tweak here or there from contending. Tatar and Nyqvist really took a step back this year.

I don't know.. It's the right play, he just mishandled the puck. It happens. It was just really bad luck. Competitive series, regardless of the 4-1. Go Bolts...

I'm not sure we were watching the same game  I disagree with everything you've said haha but that's ok too. And you can't blame a loss on 1 player. Pavel most definitely was not awol wow what a magic man he is!

The bad thing is if Pavel doesn't come back, his cap number still hits the Wings because of how the contract was structured. Somewhere in the $7M - $9M range.

Yes Pavels cap hit will be 7.5 million next year. Inserting Mantha in as a top 6 forward and let him devoplope would be wise, plus when he was in the lineup the power play was decent to good, totally non existent in the playoffs.

He play better last night ... But he and Zetterberg are no longer top 6 forwards ... Paying guys 7 million who no longer are top 6 forwards is problematic in a salary cap. And for most of the series Pavel and Z were awol ... And most of the local detroits sports media has been saying the same thing.

Just getting home from the Hawks game…..Only 3 PJ songs tonight but boy was the madhouse on Madison rocking. There is nothing better then sticking it to anything St. Lousey. Bring on Games 7….those Blues have got to be shaking in their skates after that fist to the Jaw tonight.

It was definitely close, but the replays I saw, the puck wasn't clearly all the way over the goal line, so they couldn't overturn the call on the ice. I suspect if the ref had called a goal on the play, it would have been called back on the review (I'm assuming Dallas would have challenged).

And so the Battle of the Minnesotas ends for the year, lol.

No goal, but probably should've been a penalty shot.

Lol, as I'm finishing a bootleg, on tv the girl starts singing The Star-Spangled Banner just as Mike transitions Yellow Ledbetter into your national anthem. Love odd coincidences like that, lol.

I saw one replay that, I thought, was pretty definitive as a goal.

I didn't see it. But the whole puck has to cross the line. Just in case

  • Kings out, Boo-hoo.
Now I root against the Ducks....and even though I was rooting for the Flyers in their series I think in the east I root for Washington now. Hope Williams and Richards get another ring.

After Nashville gets put out I will be for Washington. I got to meet Barry Trotz quite a few times while he was here and he was always super nice to me and we have had some great conversations about hockey. He really taught me a lot about the game. I would love to see him win a cup.

Now let's go Nashville. At least win this last one at home so I don't have to see that ass hat Corey Perry celebrate the series win.

Game 7 tonight. I think the Blues will be completing their annual playoff choke in worse fashion than usual. Let's go Hawks.

On another note- Caps/Pens should be an awesome series.

yea not so much on the Hawks. 2 great games tonight though. about the last 4 days the playoff intensity really riled up and now it's on. some wild games.

and how does Mike Emerick talk that fast, that long and never fumble a word. guy is incredible and love his intensity for the games.
