Just one more quick thought...I was listening to the Zagreb bootleg again and still am amazed with the setlist...it was a great mix of hits and rarities and just the perfect PJ setlist

I mean, they played Black, Alive, Better Man, Jeremy, Porch, Evenflow, Corduroy, Do The Evolution, GTF, Small Town, RITFW, YL all in one show, in front of this crazy loud crowd mostly filled with people seeing them for the first time...and then the hardcore fans got such a rarities which they played only handful of times after the Zagreb show like All Or None (played only once), Thumbing My Way (2 times), Thin Air (3 times), Education (5), Army Reserve (6) and Gimme Some Truth (still to be played again)...absolutely mind-blowing  ;)
Hahaha, I always roll my eyes when I listen to that boot and Ed says: This is a number you might now know...uhm, its a Lost Dog. And then they start EDUCATION! And I was like: WTF??? Are you serious??? lol
Of course, a casual fan wouldn't know it, but most of us did that night :)

Gordan: It would be fun to hear from our fellow 10c members who were in Zagreb what memories they have about that epic day. So, please, share them with us. It will make us very happy and maybe it would help us to bring back Pearl Jam, at least for one show, if not for the whole Croatian Tour, from Osijek to Dubrovnik.

    Great pics guys

Way to represent on the Canadian tour!!! I am a proud Croatian-American who loves when Croatia gets a little spotlight. I have recommended Croatia as a vacation spot to so many over the years and not a single soul has come back without a giant smile on their face.

We need to get a couple of shows there during the next European tour. We need a joint effort to get the word back to management. I'm sure they would welcome the positive sentiment after all the merch crying

    Keep hope Alive

EDIT: Traslation for our non-croatian speaking friends:
Obviously, people didn't take me serious when I asked them to share their experience from Zagreb show. :(
It doesn't matter. I am going through the pictures from Canada so this is a good chance to get this topic back to the first page. This is our sign's journey through Canada:

It was beautiful while it lasted and while everything was in PRESENT TENSE.

Gordan: sorry that I didn't write this post in english in the first place. :) Hope this makes it right.
  • My wife and I were at that Zagreb show. "Gimme Some Truth" was played for our mate Matt from Texas, who'd been carrying a big sheet around Europe with "Gimme Some Truth" written on it. It's still the first and only time I've ever heard "All or None" live. It was my final 2006 show (I did 13). And the city of Zagreb is amazing, except for the graffiti. We spent 4 days in Zagreb. It was wonderful.
    My Pearl Jam shows: 1 in 1995, 2 in 1998, 20 in 2003, 13 in 2006, 3 in 2007, 8 in 2008, 5 in 2009, 4 in 2010, 5 in 2012. EV: 8 in 2011, 1 in 2012. Brad: 1 in 1998, 1 in 2002.

I remember Randall telling us the story about Zagreb and the graffiti at some airport during the 2009 tour and thinking that's maybe a little bit exaggerated, but he was so right...after that I started taking notice about it and really, lot of the old buildings in the city centre are ruined with these stupid "graffiti" (more like pointless doodles)...but glad you liked it regardless, it is a beautiful city ;)

And yes, we remember that guy with "Gimme Some Truth" sign, he was standing right next to us in the front row and we were all soo happy when Ed said they're going to play it for him...

Gordan: Hey Randall and Darcy, good to hear that you loved Zagreb and that your friend Matt got his wish granted. I doubt that I will ever hear STRANGEST TRIBE. That would be my request.
Hope that you'll be back for that show that they will play next year on the European Tour. :D They have to come back.
  • I'd be back to Zagreb no problems. A friend from Australia has Croation parents and he told us to try this Croation kinda flat sausage thing-I used to know the name of it, but I've forgotten now-you get it in take out places and such. Kind of reminded me of Scottish square sausage. I lived on it in Zagreb-it was gorgeous. I loved that city. Have lots of photos, too.

Gordan: Only thing that comes to my mind when you say flat sausage is - PLJESKAVICA. Not very healthy diet :D , but very delicious. :P Would love to see photos if you can upload them.

Iva: here's another tour pic of our sign, which now that I think about it, is living the life of a garden gnome, since it's been travelling around since 2007. In fact, the sign has been to 17 shows if I'm not mistaking - 14 with my husband and I and now three more with Gordan&Anica! Way to go sign!

Gordan: How new the sign looked in that picture! :D It would be interesting to find out how many times members of the band took notice of it. I am sure that they did in Manchester '09. Correct me if I am wrong, but you can here Eddie screaming "ZAGREB" during Alive. Come to think of it, the sign has a strong connection with Alive and that is my favorite PJ song :D

Iva: well, I'd say they maybe noticed it at every show we went to, except for the two MSG shows in 2008, where we were seated a bit further away, so it might be possible they couldn't see it...dunno... At a good number of shows Ed, Mike or Jeff (we prefer Mike's side :)) saw it and Ed mentioned Zagreb in Munich (where there was a bunch of us Croats and he said "I remember you too"), Rotterdam (where he came and shook our hands) and the abovementioned Manchester. Basically, he has definitely seen it on each tour since 2007. So he's definitely aware of us showing it in his face, the poor thing.

We'll see if it all amounts to anyhing...If all we get from it is seeing Pearl Jam a lot of times and meeting a lot of Pearl Jam fans that's perfectly fine by me. ;) But if they ever do decide to come back to Zagreb...now that would be just spectacular!

Think you might had CEVAPCICI. Minced meat that looks like a small sausage. Usually you get a portion of 10. Lol

This is the one. Definitely. Thanks for reminding me of the name! I knew it as soon as I saw it. It was fucking lovely!
