the entire doomtree collective needs to be mentioned. doomtree: p.o.s., mike mictlan, dessa, lazerbeak, paper tiger, cecil otter and sims.
sims' 'bad time zoo' is my album of the year so far (so, probably not going to change between now and dec 31, though the doomtree crew record 'no kings' comes out next week, so...).
then there's eyedea and abilities (rip eyedea), kristoff krane, heiruspecs, toki wright, astronautilus (a recent relocator)... the hip-hop scene here is really cool, and the community vibe they all share represents our city as well as any.
just look at the collaborative effort that was the gayngs record and you'll see why minnesota has an incredible local scene...

Ha yea, well last year Gilmour was in town during Waters' stay in the Twin Cities during the Wall Shows in St. Paul and some other city I can't recall, but unfortunately Gilmour didn't play that night. Everyone thought for sure it was goin to happen even though Gilmour said he'd only play one show w/ Roger and although I wanted it to be in MN I think everyone really knew it would be in England. Anyway... we can maybe just get Mother played by PJ. I'd be more than satisfied w/ that.

sims' 'bad time zoo' is my album of the year so far (so, probably not going to change between now and dec 31, though the doomtree crew record 'no kings' comes out next week, so...).
then there's eyedea and abilities (rip eyedea), kristoff krane, heiruspecs, toki wright, astronautilus (a recent relocator)... the hip-hop scene here is really cool, and the community vibe they all share represents our city as well as any.
just look at the collaborative effort that was the gayngs record and you'll see why minnesota has an incredible local scene...
solid gold is great. seeing their show at the turf in december.
roma di luna is no more. the singer (whose name escapes me atm) is now in polica who, coincidentally, are opening for solid gold at that same turf show i mentioned above.
play minnesota in 2012 pearl jam. then pull a lady gaga and visit the turf club after the show.

Ha yea, well last year Gilmour was in town during Waters' stay in the Twin Cities during the Wall Shows in St. Paul and some other city I can't recall, but unfortunately Gilmour didn't play that night. Everyone thought for sure it was goin to happen even though Gilmour said he'd only play one show w/ Roger and although I wanted it to be in MN I think everyone really knew it would be in England. Anyway... we can maybe just get Mother played by PJ. I'd be more than satisfied w/ that.
