someone is selling an unplayed benny hall vinyl for $300. I don't know if it's still available but it's worth a look.

He probably got a slew of PMs from people reading this thread and realized he was underestimating the value of the record.

off to the used record stores...oh wait, IKE is outside, guess i better wait unitl it blows over...
"Forgive every being,
the bad feelings
it's just me"
Not to burst your bubble on getting really great stuff at used record shops as it is within the realm of possibility still, but chances are slim now more than ever. The reason is that the people who own these stores know there is a small market that is willing to pay top dollar for certain records. They skim all the really good stuff off the top and sell it on Ebay. Everytime I go into the local used record store by me, the guy behind the counter is looking at all their ebay listings. Also, I have talked to the guy at the post office up the street and he tells me that the guy who owns the record store is in the PO all the time shipping stuff that he's sold on Ebay.
I have to think these guys make tons of money off people who sell their relatives' LP lots and don't have a clue what they are selling or anything about the LP market. Just having the store probably gives the owners of these stores access to a lot of really undervalued records and they 100 percent know it.... not sure I would do things any different if I were in their shoes though.
While it is possible and every once in a great while I do run into something that I've been searching for, or a rare album. It is extremely time consuming and the jackpots are extremely far and between.
I always go searching the local record shops, Goodwill, Salvation Army, Garage Sales/Yard Sales, Thrift Stores and Pawn Shops.
It's very rare to come across something I really cherish and have been searching for.
In the last nine months I have been fortunate to find two LPs that I desperately wanted and are a big deal....to me.
The Eagles First Pressing of " Their Greatest Hits 1971-1975 " with the embossed skull and a First Pressing of Bruce Spingsteen's " Darkness On The Edge Of Town". Both with perfect, Mint vinyl that only required a lite cleaning.
Both sound great!!!
Otherwise, it's a lot of searching, thumbing through album after album.....after album; with no success.
Although, it's still fun:D
Check out what this Douche on the audiocircle website is asking for the PJ Christmas singles from the 2000's ....... $200 each!!!
http://www.audiocircle.com/circles/index.php?topic=59311.0
He's way off on the christmas singles........way off. Guy's clearly not familiar with the value of the singles.
Guess I can't blame him, though. After misjudging and lowballing himself on the value of Benny Hall and the crap you guys are giving him; I'd play it safe, too:D
LOL, now he cancelled the christmas singles thread. And left a response for you.
Well, at least he can admit when he's wrong.
Actualy Horse2345 is another BC guy who posts on here also
Guy never had a deal with anyone for his original $300 price, so no harm no foul.
Although it's still funny:D
I started to feel bad for that guy and felt the need to register on there , just for the purpose of apologizing for the behavior of the jerks and to assure him not all Pearl Jam fans are like that.
Also wished him luck in selling it. If I could afford it right now, I would buy it.
My Benny albums have seen a lot of play and I've been wanting to get another one, in case the vinyl starts to show some audible wear and tear.
But I can't afford it, right now.
He responded back to my PM, last night.
If these people would have took the time to engage in a civil discussion with that guy, they would have found out the reason he is selling it and why getting more money is important to him.
Guy got layed-off from his job, has three kids, a wife, a home and they are struggling...day-to-day to put food on the table and pay all their bills. It became obvious from what he said in the PM that he really didn't want to sell it. But has no choice. Guy says he's been a Pearl Jam fan since day one. He got his Benny from the Ten Club sale.
So along comes these sanctimonious windbags, who register at that site just so they can start attacking the guy, sending him nasty, vicious PMs and crapping all over his sales thread. They didn't even take the time to ask the guy anything about why he was selling it.
I don't know, just doesn't seem right to do such a thing.
I can sympathize with him, for sure. I have two kids, a home ......and I don't know what I would do if I lost my job and had to support my family without a job. Yeah, Savings are there for me. But Savings don't last long when you're out of work, paying bills, feeding a family and out searching for a new job. And not everyone has Savings. Especially these days and after the last eight years.
Oh, and I no longer think it's funny.
yes, people on here seem to always think guys are selling their vinyls with a smile on their face, just because they are going to make money of them...

I find the contrast between your post and your signature to be hysterical.
Sidenote: I agree with the overall sentiment of your post--a lot of people around here need to chill with their self-righteousness.
There's a reason for that, but you would have to read the last five years worth of my posts, from the Moving Train; to understand the tounge and cheek humor of it, lol.
I thought it was just an overall expression of appreciation for female breasts, which I was 100 percent OK with. THere is actually a deeper message in there??
Well, that's 98% of it:D
I wouldn't exactly call it "deep":D
Just poking a little fun at the religious folks, while declaring my love for female breasts. They are a love ...a passion ......a cause to dedicate one's life to:D
