what's better than ebay?

been a long time fan, since around 92 or so, but am just now really getting utterly addicted to finding PJ collectibles(vinyls, bootlegs etc.) A lot of the rare collectibles are somewhat easy to find on ebay, but the prices are out of this world (ITW, Benny hall vinyls). So here's the thing: Where else can you find these. I know 99% of PJ fans won't part with theirs for any price and I agree, I wouldn't either. But I'm on the outside looking in with some of these. Any other online store, most prices are way higher than ebay if they even have the item in the first place. The local record stores only have re-issue Ten albums or commercially released bootlegs like MSG I + II in 2003. Everyone on here bashes ebay cause of the high prices, but where else can a guy go to find them at a decent price?

PS I know the Benny Hall will never be less than about $500 or so cause of the demand, but even some CD boots can be in the $100 range according to ebay.
He who forgets will be destined to remember.

sadly there really isn't a much better place, here's musicstack which compiles a bunch of different record stores together. Even my local indie record store started using the internet to price records about two years ago, its sad but if you didn't get them before they went out of print the price is through the roof on alot of vinyl, especially stuff from the 90's because so few people bought vinyl.

Keep checking indie shops. Somebody posted on here the other day about finding two 2000 boots for $5 each which is excellent. Sometimes the third party sellers on amazon aren't so ridiculous in the amounts they ask. Sometimes auctions slip through the cracks on ebay and you wind up finding something at a really good price.

Good luck with your addiction :). I've been doing the collecting thing for 15 years or so and once it grabs you it doesn't let up :)
I am lost, I'm no guide. But I'm by your side...
