Perry is going through the "Palin factor" right now. Meaning that he is being exposed as a fringle artist who has lots of good sound bytes of rhetoric, but without anything substantive to say. When he's asked hard questions, he's exposed as the bible-thumping fascist pig that he is.
Bachmann pretty much has already gone through this.
Romney, paradoxically as a Mormom, has not yet gone through the "Palin" factor, because I guess he's the most sensible of the group.. THAT is scary. So, I think it is Romney that gets the Teapublican nod, which could be bad for Obama - none of the others stand a chance in a Presidential election because they are so far out there.
Ron Paul doesn't stand a chance either but that's because his views are in direct conflict of those who ultimately decide who gets elected; the top of the social hierarchy. Same with Johnson.
So, it's going to be Mitt Romney v. Obama, 14 moons from now. That scares me (not that I support Obama) but I think Romney can't get elected because he's a Mormon. The moderates/independents just will be too scared or creeped out by his "cultish" religious views.
Its funny actually... all republicans had to do was come up with a normal, sensible white male who keeps his nose clean and doesn't have extremist views on social issues, and they would have won this thing easily. That's not a racist or sexist statement, its just the way I think people would vote.
