Losing a member

I'll post this just to be polemic. PJ have had a few drummers, (as one current thread highlights), but they've been stable now for nearly a decade, as well as adding Boom. So, a hypothetical question...

Who could the band lose and still be PJ?

I'm too chicken to even answer my own question here, as I can't see the band beign the same if any member left, but I'd appreciate the thoughts of those of you out there who are more decisive than me! Polemic yet indecisive, strange combination...
we're all going to the same place...

Definately Boom, possibly Matt. However, none of the other members who have been with the band for it entire existence qualify.

They definitely could not lose any of the original 4.

Even though Matt has been the longest tenured of the drummers, if he left it wouldn't be as big of a deal if, say, Mike or Stone or Jeff or Eddie walked away.

I still don't really count Boom...

Boom is not an official member of the band.

I think they could lose Matt and not have any issues. He is the best, but the history of the band it to change drummers, so that wouldn't be the end.

I wouldn't like to see any of the members leave! As I love Pearl Jam the way that they are!

buuuuutt...if...in theory, one of the members decided to leave... I think the band could continue to be a band if Matt or Boom left. As long as Matt was replaced by another kickass drummer...I don't think I'd like PJ without a drummer ;).

I don't think I would even notice if Boom was gone.Don't get me wrong I like the guy just don't think he adds to much.Matt could leave and I would really miss him but that is it.If Mike ED,Stone or Jeff left It would not be the same.

Ed... only if he is replaced with Jim Morrison. Imagine what those songs would sound like. Jim is the only man that could bring what Ed brings...

I think at this point in their career, if they lost any member they would cease the band but continue to give us great solo works.

^ No one would buy those side project albums if they weren't members of PJ first. Boom is the most expendable, then Matt. I've come to respect Matt a lot more, not as a drummer necessarily, but for his contributions to the band. The guy writes some killer songs.

The only members I could see leaving are Boom and Matt, if anyone else left after all this time it wouldn't be Pearl Jam anymore.

This coming from a Guns N' Roses fan...
    Thanks EPOTTSIII!
