No doubt about it after tonight's game.

I didn't know there was a jockey named Matt Kemp?
It'd be a travesty, but it wouldn't surprise me. Chicks dig the long ball, and Jay Mariotti gets a vote
gotta agree with Cliffy. To put up numbers like that for the team he is on, gotta give it to him.
.326 avg.
110 runs
37 homers
119 rbi
40 sb
Braun-
.329 avg.
105 runs
32 homers
107 rbi
32 sb.
plus he has another potential mvp candidate hitting right behind him in Prince Fielder.
It'll be close between Kemp and Braun but give it to Kemp. I think Upton will finish 4th in the voting behind Pujols.

If he doesn't win it it's a crime. Individual awards are dumb
maybe one, but not both at the same time.
Zack Greinke played on a pretty bad KC team, but they didn't have the MVP

Andre Dawson on a bad Cubs team

yeah and steve carlton won 27 games for a team that won 60 something total 40 years ago. i just can't think of a team that's ever had both cy and mvp on same team.
Hershiser won the CY award in 1988 for the (World Champion) Dodgers, the same year Kirk Gibson (Dodgers) won the NL MVP, but I think you were asking if a bad team ever had that happen to them. I am not sure about that to be honest. I can't think of any bad team in recent years who had both a CY and MVP winner
Norm, you are awesome....
KEMvP!

Eh, that's the whole value vs. Best argument. I think it's for the best player.
this logic is pretty dumb. without fielder they don't make the playoffs either.
plus, kemp's numbers are better than braun's, which is the most important criteria
big surprise a Brewers fan predicting that a Brewers player will win MVP

Edit: Tulo's team made it to the playoffs with a very strong late season push that he was a major part of, but the Crew was only eliminated on the season's next to last day and were close because of his addition. Again, to say Braun winning ROY in '07 was a travesty is ridiculous.
.324 average, 37 HR, 120 RBI, .400 OBP, .581 Slug, 40 SB/11 CS, 158 Games
Player #2:
.333 average, 33 HR, 110 RBI, .396 OBP, .599 Slug, 31 SB/6 CS, 147 Games
Player #3:
.293 average, 35 HR, 114 RBI, ..408 OBP, .546 Slug, 1 SB/1 CS, 159 Games
Player #4:
.291 Average, 31 HR, 88 RBI, .372 OBP, .533 Slug, 21 SB/9 CS, 157 Games
Looking at the 4 guys mentioned on this thread without their names makes it pretty obvious that it's either 1 or 2. Given that #1 plays in a pitchers park where foul balls can lead to outs where in place like Fenway the ball falls harmlessly in the stands I go with him. However, if #2 wins because his team made it to the playoffs it wouldn't be a sham. #3 Doesn't get counting stats like 1,2, and 4 because he leads the league with like 110 walks (even the phils chose not to pitch to him in their september series), but he's still not as valuable. #4 whoever said him is seriously on some sort of drugs and alcohol. He shouldn't even be in this conversation.
I'm sorry Norm I don't give a rat's ass about the Dodgers.
