no....okay to clarify, no I do not believe your (OP) intention was to compare D to Hitler, but I think it is in poor taste good intentioned or not. I don't find it humorous, ironic, insert whatever adjective you want to call it, I think it is insulting. My opinion, you can agree or not, don't really care one way or the other. I personally don't think using a Hitler clip to portray Dimi's passion about flippers is in any way good or amusing.

sorry I did not mean OP was comparing D to Hitler, the last line was poorly worded. Should have said using Hitlers effigy to represent someone else, especially someone so UNLIKE Hitler

I totally understand you. I am German and I always feel odd when people are making fun of that part of German history, cause to me it is a very serious topic and something that makes me feel bad about being German. I would never joke about it, it feels strange and not good. But I am German. Nevertheless, I like the creative approach and I thought it was funny in a way.

I loved Dimi's message and I think it is good and right to rant about the whole flippers thing. It's bad, bad, bad.

Leeze, I've laughed at this clip with Canucks, Delta Airlines, Dimi, and various other themes. The OP showed incredible wit at making it completely relative to this board and it latest 'issue'. The reasons expressed in your post dull the humour for me somewhat. German people have to live with that the ghosts of their forefathers and that would be difficult for most. I get why you wouldn't find it as funny as me.

Leeze, please accept the fact that- at least in my large circle of Canadian friends- the world does not even remotely paint 'Germans' with the same brush that it does Hitler and Nazi Germany. My German history teacher revealed how painful it was for him to deal with the fact that his father and the like were part of what occured in WWII- it had a huge impact on me. I would hate to think that we all had a huge laugh when maybe others were... say... uncomfortable with the subject matter.

There was no malice intended here. OP posted in good spirit to make light of a tense 10C situation.

    +1
  • I dislike the flippers, too. Especially since it's just not in our budget to even buy from 10C in the first place. :(
Lots of love, light and hugs to you all!

that may be the funniest thing ever, definitely way funnier than what the clip was originally, something along the lines of Harleys and hondas right?

It's all good, and I think I know that there was no malice intended. I was just voicing my personal opinion :) It's a good thing to see something of an "international" perspective on the whole thing. The video is funny, I just would not say that it is hilarious and that I laughed my ass off. But again, this is my personal opinion.
